Football -

5. Stephens - I really like this kid. He might not be there yet, but he will be.

And that's about it, and I've beenn watching since the 50's

Hockey -

And here's another team I've watched as a kid in the 50's and drew a blank on significant HC's during that time.

Art Ross was a legendary innovator and I wouldn't want anybody else behind the bench...Babe Ruth called Bill "Rough" Carrigan (Holy Cross guy) the best manager he ever played for.

Ron Meyer, despite Hog's accurate assessment of him (remember John chasing him around the stadium?) has really grown on me over the years. Besides the fun snow plow game, he brought Scar along with him here. That just puts him right up there for me.

100% BB and way ahead of Red and it's not even close. BB is the greatest mastermind in the most strategic sport. He did it in a salary cap era with basically 4 generation of Patriots teams. There is no arguing that BB is a mad genious. Red was a great coach, but won with stacked teams and is not considered the greatest X and O's coach.

1. Hands down Red Auerbach.
2. Bill Belichick.
3. Cherry/ Sinden/ Julien. Can't make up my mind.
4. Terry Francona.
