We should've had a championship Triple Crown during 2007-08, and of course in 2018-19.

Looks like the next chance will therefore be in 2029-30, when I'll be...69! Yeah baby yeah!

As it turns out, there is only one consistently awesome team in New England since 2001. Glad we have them!

talkabout cherry-picking........the bruins have missed the playoffs 7 times in 50 years

over the same period (since 2001), the celtics have missed the playoffs 4 times

over the same period, the red sox have won the world series 4 times

atta way to sound as spoiled AF

There's another one which has 4 rings since 2004 and has been pretty good, too. Not as good as the Pats, but pretty good.

I want the Sox, I need the Pats too.

But there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love the other two.

Now don't be sad, cause two out of four ain't bad.

Two out of four ain't bad....

TBH, I am more upset about the Celts' pathetic performance in round 2 than the B's losing game 7.....

I can't imagine how a team that wasn't even guaranteed to make the Finals (They would've been underdogs against Toronto) compares to a team blowing game frickin 7 of the Cup Finals at home. I assume you are a much bigger Celts fan than B's fan? That's the only explanation lol.

Yeah even if the Smelltics had beaten the Bucks, I don't think they would've beaten Toronto, especially without home court advantage.

I don't think they would've lasted six games with Toronto to be honest. Philly would've been a different story.

The Celtics are more popular than the Bruins. But not by much. I think Bruins fans have always been a bit more blue collar and loyal. I can't imagine fans of both teams would ever say the Celtics losing in round two (In 5) to a better Bucks team comes even remotely close to the Bruins losing on home ice in game 7 (To a team they were more talented than). But again, if he is a die hard Celts fan, and only a casual B's fan, I completely understand.

For me personally, I am a fan of all four teams. Die hard of each. The Bruins losing that game is third (In terms of heartbreak) behind SB 42 & SB 52 for me.(I'm too young to remember Aaron Boone. And I didn't think the 2010 Celtics were better than the Lakers. Although that hurt too)

This could be its own thread. Aaron Boone hurt, but the Sox erased it so quickly that I don't put it in my top 3. As for the 2010 Celtics, they lost game 7 by 4 friggin points. I believe if Perkins didn't get hurt in Game 6 they get a couple more rebounds and win Game 7.

My top (or bottom) 3:

Bruins 2013 Game 6 collapse vs. the Blackhawks. I still believe to this day the B's would have won G7 in that one.

Sox 1986. No explanation required.

Celtics 87. That was the beginning of the end and we all knew it. The big 3 was starting to fade due to injury and age (see McHale playing on a broken foot), Walton didn't play the entire season, and everything that went right in 86 went wrong that season. Len Bias' death cast a huge shadow over that entire season and the next decade. Despite all that they were a missed Magic hook shot from pushing that series to 7 games.

There is No doubt Whatsoever in my mind that if Perkins hadn't been Cheap-Shotted by Ron Artest, then Boston wins Game 7.

Of course, if Danny had gone the logical way and drafted Lottery-talent DeAndre Jordan instead of UDFA-talent JR Giddens in 2008, then Boston still wins Game 7...and another title in 2012.

Truth, but Danny has done a lot more right than wrong while he's been here. He's gone outside the box and it's worked many times. Unfortunately this team ran into injuries, a generational dubs team, and Lebron at the peak of his powers just as Ainge's plan was all starting to come together.

Perhaps...and I won't deny that trading up 3 spots to draft...Kelly Olynyk...is certainly going outside the box.

I certainly admit many moves didn't pan out. But the fleecing of the Nets gets Danny a pass for a very long time (not to mention getting Garnett and Allen in the first place). Throw in the Tatum deal, taking on and unloading Brinks Truck at the right time, and the hiring of Stevens, and he has definitely done more good than bad.

Yeah....Celts and Pats are my #1 teams....followed by the Sox as a very distant 3rd...then the Bruins #4...then the Revolution an extremely distant 5th.... Only been to one Bruin game in my life....and only watch hockey if the Bruins are in the playoffs and even then...not until games 5-7.... But I have a lot of Bruin fan relatives, friends, and etc....and just happened to watch MORE Bruins games this year than ever...due to the Celts being bounced out early and no NBA games on the same day.... Still, I was enough of a fan to tune in and see Bourque raise the Stanley Cup 20ish years ago....and always choose the '88 Bruins with Cam Neely when playing EA's NHL Hockey video game...

To me the biggest danger in the NBA is falling into that mediocre zone that's so hard to get out of. Ainge did a masterful job of riding the big three just as long as he should have--you don't want to blow things up too soon--and then getting a great return from them. He drafted well, went after a good free agent, then cashed in some chips on Kyrie. And the coach looked good too. Up until this season, gold stars. Unfortunately, you have to be judged by results, and his grand plan simply didn't work.

Not saying I want somebody else calling the shots, and I'm still optimistic, but damn.
