Interesting video shot by a fan from his lower corner seats........video shows the last Brady drive with awesome view of Edelmans catch and then of course the very corner where the two plays of a lifetime for Butler occurred.

"Stolen Signals" A very dumb thread by some very bitter, stupid 12th men!!

that moron must be a crank baby...or conceived after an ecstasy binge.Dude ain't wired right...

Yes, but the other Seahawks fans are roundly demolishing him and praising Butler for making an incredible play.

seattle fans suck as a whole

You don't have to steal signals when the opposing team calls the same play every time they are in this situation. The Pats didn't steal the signals (which is near impossible these days). Carroll and Bevelle just telegraphed the play and showed their lack of creativity.

As a Moderator, Smessy is probably intimately familiar with the fact that almost 20% of Americans suffer from some kind of mental illness.

5% are severely mentally ill.

And another 5% suffer from the kind of functional mental illnesses such as Personality Disorders that will never the less make the people around them go WTF when they are unfortunate enough to trigger certain kinds of responses... such as to criticize them in slightest way.. ;)

Just assume that 1 out of 10 posters/comments you read were written by someone with a pretty severe mental illness.

The rest were written by sport's fans.. :D

Hey, some of us can overcome it with meds and become Moderators! :D

Only 20 percent? That seems quite low. Pretty much everyone who owns a smart phone is mentally impaired to some degree.

KILL AMENDOLA!!!...ok...feeling better now...under control...it's alright...

First off, great video. Never get tired of seeing highlights from that game.

On the second point, I wonder how that Seahawks fans would react if he knew that defensive players on his team said they had figured out Manning's hand signals during the last Super Bowl. How could they possibly do that?

It just shows how weak minded some people are and are nothing but sheep. It's not called stealing signals, it is called scouting. Also these idiots forget Seattle's 3rd TD of the game

1st and goal from the 4- Lynch for 1 yard
2nd and goal from the 3- Baldwin TD.

So that's a great play because Baldwin got helped by running Revis into the the ref and getting open and catching a TD. But in basically the same instance because it didn't work Pats are "stealing signals"

So your prior TD you have a Lynch run and then a pass and then on this drive you run Lynch and then trot out 3 WRs and setup in a formation that the Pats defense had been practicing against all week. Specifically against a guy that practiced against Seattle's offense for 3 years.

Ya stealing signals. Not scouting or anything.

How can anyone steal signals with the implementation of the green dot/mic system in the helmet?

The DC is calling in the defensive signals, isn't he? How is it even possible to steal signals any more?

Seriously. Someone with more knowledge a about this, please chime in

Actually the REAL irony here are the Seattle fans who complain about the potential for the Patriots "stealing signals, while they are attempting to run an blatantly ILLEGAL play.

It must be a sssssllloooooow day around here for some, since this is basically football 101--or at least I thought so. I don't know about anyone 'with more knowledge' chiming in, but I'll try and add on:

I'm guessing that there are still some shifts, line calls, etc that end up being hand "signaled" from the sidelines in response to how the offense is lined up, but that would be a very small part of it.

The green dot system has been in place defensively since 2008. Here is what USA Today reported on it when it first came out:

1) "Select defensive players, usually a safety or a linebacker can thank SpyGate for their new headgear."

2) "Those defenders join QB's as the league attempts to counter-balance the New England Patriots illegally video taping the NY Jets defensive hand signals in last season's opener."

3) "It's going to speed up the whole process, says SD Chargers head coach Norv Turner, and it takes away the threat of someone stealing your signals, which is big now."

Select defensive players, usually a linebacker or safety chosen by the coaching staff, can thank Spygate for their new head gear.
Those defenders join quarterbacks as the league seeks to counter-balance the New England Patriots' illegally video taping of the New York Jets' defensive hand signals in last year's season opener.
The NFL fined head coach Bill Belichick $500,000 and the Patriots $250,000, stripping the club of a first-round draft choice for violating its rules on video taping opposing teams from the sideline, a practice Belichick admitted dated to the 2000 season.
"It's going to speed up the whole process," San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner says. "And it takes away that threat of someone stealing your signals, which is big now."

Not sure why the above post came out the way it did with the quotes at the end being repeated, as there have been problems on the site tonight (at least for me, anyway). Unfortunately, it won't let me edit or remove it.

Either way, you get the general idea. I'm actually quite surprised that so many posters didn't bring this up in their responses earlier, to be perfectly honest.
