You don't have to steal signals when the opposing team calls the same play every time they are in this situation. The Pats didn't steal the signals (which is near impossible these days). Carroll and Bevelle just telegraphed the play and showed their lack of creativity.

It just shows how weak minded some people are and are nothing but sheep. It's not called stealing signals, it is called scouting. Also these idiots forget Seattle's 3rd TD of the game

1st and goal from the 4- Lynch for 1 yard
2nd and goal from the 3- Baldwin TD.

So that's a great play because Baldwin got helped by running Revis into the the ref and getting open and catching a TD. But in basically the same instance because it didn't work Pats are "stealing signals"

So your prior TD you have a Lynch run and then a pass and then on this drive you run Lynch and then trot out 3 WRs and setup in a formation that the Pats defense had been practicing against all week. Specifically against a guy that practiced against Seattle's offense for 3 years.

Ya stealing signals. Not scouting or anything.

Actually the REAL irony here are the Seattle fans who complain about the potential for the Patriots "stealing signals, while they are attempting to run an blatantly ILLEGAL play.

It must be a sssssllloooooow day around here for some, since this is basically football 101--or at least I thought so. I don't know about anyone 'with more knowledge' chiming in, but I'll try and add on:

I'm guessing that there are still some shifts, line calls, etc that end up being hand "signaled" from the sidelines in response to how the offense is lined up, but that would be a very small part of it.

The green dot system has been in place defensively since 2008. Here is what USA Today reported on it when it first came out:

1) "Select defensive players, usually a safety or a linebacker can thank SpyGate for their new headgear."

2) "Those defenders join QB's as the league attempts to counter-balance the New England Patriots illegally video taping the NY Jets defensive hand signals in last season's opener."

3) "It's going to speed up the whole process, says SD Chargers head coach Norv Turner, and it takes away the threat of someone stealing your signals, which is big now."
