Gordon being held out for a quarter tonight at Buffalo for being late

This is the reason we got him so cheap. Let’s see how tonight plays out. To our knowledge he hasn’t failed a drug test.

He arrived late before the team left for buffalo yesterday. I am sure BB started looking for a WR before that.
Yup! just started reading thru the thread. That's what I get for not reading thru the thread first.

Took some points off the Pats' total in the guess the score contest. I'm glad they told us before @alamo locked the thread.

Why do people keep saying stuck in traffic. Aren't they all in a hotel in Buffalo?

This is really a tempest in a teapot. He didn't tell a coach to sit on it. He didn't flunk a drug test. He didn't show up at the Foxboro police station in his underwear. For whatever reason he showed up AFTER the appropriate time for players to be there for departure. He DIDN'T miss the flight, so it wasn't he was hours late, but rather minutes.

This is what Bill (and I) would call a "teachable moment". He was late for an appointment, and is being held accountable for it. That is what is supposed to happen in a well run organization.

And don't think for a moment that the punishment isn't harsh enough. First he will now have to deal with the blowback since part of the punishment is that the Pats made this public, very public. They could have just as easily done this in house and no one would have known the difference. Secondly, while his absence on the field for a quarter is unlikely to make much of a difference in this game, he now has to rebuild the trust he has worked so hard to build with his teammates. Believe me, on a well run team, how your teammates look at you is very important most players. If he cares as much as he seems to about the team, then this is going to hurt.

Also lets remember that this isn't the first time Bill has dealt with players who were late for something. Snowstorms, traffic, and other rather innocent reasons for being late never mattered to this organization. (see Richard Seymore) So before this gets blow out of proportion (though its probably too late for that), it wouldn't matter to Bill if his tardiness were completely innocent. He was late and this is the punishment.

The team like any organization operates a certain way and has consequences in place for each time a certain rule is broken. The reaction by us sane fans doesnt need to be like how tony massoroti would do on 98.5 IMO.

This is not the news I wanted to hear. Really hoping that this is a one off, he’s done so well thus far. Perhaps Hoyer can move in with him to make sure he is on time. Would be the most productive thing he’ll do all year.

Moss was sent home after being late in a snowstorm

Revis also got sent home after being late when he was here

This just isn't anything newsworthy.

Not good news, however you rationalize it, though it's better to give him some tough love ASAP than to let it slide even a little

Once a turd always a turd. These bad apples almost never get it (and Gordon is amongst the worst ever in being a total screwup)

Guy says the right things but messes up in his first month with the Pats. Pathetic

I hope this is the last such incident one way or the other. Either he cleans up his act or he’s gone

stuck in traffic yesterday to get to the stadium before team left for buffalo.

It is when the guy in question should be walking on eggshells and trying his hardest to do everything right

You guys remember revis was sent home for being late right ?
Caught in a snow storm

Tell me that hasn't happened yet (I'm in Florida)

Well Josh arrived on the first bus to the stadium. This is probably a minor infraction. Could be as simple as got stuck in traffic or something !

Josh really loves being a patriot from what I see on social media. I bet there’s no one more embarrassed then him right now. It’s only minor, but when you have a shaky past it just adds to it.

Relax

I know, right? He should take advice from Aaron Hernandez on how to be a model Patriot.

i think it is not a serious matter...c'mon...i still believe in him and i want continue and trust in him...i want give him too the benefit of doubt
