fun fact, met michael irving in one of the bathrooms at Canton some 6 odd years ago

i was wearing a "U" shirt, which he appreciated

i think he appreciated me saying im a patriots fan less though

No, I'm not one for preferential treatment just because both in their respective fields, are the greatest to ever do it. Follow the normal process and when their time comes, enjoy the moments.

I think Goodell should do it. Probably save him from being dumped in a 55 gallon drum full of HCL acid

On a related note, do you think they set records for shortest deliberation for a player and coach in HOF voter history?

Regards,
Chris

Why wait until they retire? Do it now and while we're at it, rename the Lombardi trophy to something more worthy like "The Tom and Bill trophy" or the "Patriots trophy".

Imagine the conniption fit that Marshall Faulk and the rest of the haters would have if they did this.. they would bring up every faux scandal that the NFL and its outlets have manufactured about the Patriots.. all of the Nattering Nabobs of Negativity would show their pimply faces over this newest scandal about BB and #12....

Let them wait, do it right.. I only hope I can be alive to witness it..

Definitely not... Hall of Fame is a prestigious club where everyone is an equal/peer

Making an exception for Bill and Tom would essentially be placing them on a pedestal as if they're more special than all the other Hall of Famers who had to wait

Nothing can save him.

He had his chance to take the high road and not go all scorched earth on Bill and Tom.

He dug his grave.

The argument in the article is that they are, in fact, more special. I'm inclined to agree with that, but it still doesn't mean they deserve preferential treatment.

We're all going to the induction ceremonies, right???

PatsFans meetup Friday night at George's?
The day either one retires is when I book my hotel room five years out ( if possible).....not too many of them in Canton,OH....

Brady should be on the HOF while still playing.

They should wait like everyone else. Once crap like this starts, what is the new cutoff? guys who win 3 SB?

The people who say Brady and Belichick should get into the HOF before the 5 year wait period sound like recent fans/frontrunners. It’s just not how things are done. No special treatment should be afforded to them.

Ray Lewis killed a couple of guys and even he had to wait.

Those ones he killed were not candidates for canton.

I say they should wait. Who cares about gold jackets when you retire with nine rings?

Well, you can't say Florio doesn't know how to get clicks. He posted a piece saying Canton should waive the waiting period for BB and Brady. That ought to fire up both the haters and the fans.

For me, I'd be against it. They shouldn't get special treatment. Wait the 5 years until they retire and go from there.
As I understand it that 5 year period is there in part to make sure they've actually retired. We've seen tons of stories of guys who've hung it up thinking they're done, and then maybe half a year to a year later they realize they still have something left in the tank. A good example of that would be Marshawn Lynch over the last couple years.

I wouldn't have any trouble picturing even a 45 year old Brady going stir crazy after sitting around the house for a little while deciding he's got some fight left in him. In fact at this point I'm beginning to think you'll have to drag Brady bodily kicking and screaming from the field. So yeah, even if he officially retires, I'd be OK with waiting a little while before enshrining him in Canton, just to make sure he really is gonna stay off the field.

What, and ruin the surprise?
