Florio speculates a Demaryius Thomas to NE trade.

Make it happen

I have no confidence in Phillip Dorsett

Heres my obligatory Richards Gilleslie Allen and a 5th for Thomas.

I speculate Florio is an idiot - no chance in friggin hell Elway is going to deal a solid WR to a top AFC Rival
I’d say it’s unlikely, but not impossible. We’d habe to pay. If we give a 5th, I think it happens.

Always liked Thomas. Seems clear that we could use the depth. Interesting idea.

After watching tonight, I think this team is in desperate need for a number 3 WR. Without Edelman the first four games, the offense could get ugly.

Dorsett caught everything thrown to him tonight. Brady shows confidence in him. You Dorsett haters are going to be disappointed I think.
That’s great news to hear. We could really use him, especially in the first 4 games.

If Thomas were to spring free, I'd expect that the Patriots would be calling him at the first possible moment. Because of his salary/cap hit, however, I don't see a likelihood of trade, as of this moment.

Hard to believe receiver is an issue after so many were brought in. Now I see why

The game tonight had me worried

Maybe D.Allen and a late 5th or 6th.

Despite what people say about Thomas being soft. He’s still a top 10 WR in this league, and one of the best 3 route runners in the league, who can run Any route on a route tree. That alone would make him a good fit here.

The only reason he doesn’t make sense here is, we just don’t have to Cap space. Unloading Allen’s bloated contract would make it worth while

While Allen is a logical choice due to his cap hit, I’d be cautious when parting with a strong blocking TE, especially with the new LT. I’d love to have a big, physical presence at WR too, though.

The expections of trading for another receiver are hard to fathom.. how many accomplished WR's have come here and not been able to pick up the offense. Chad Ochocinco, Joey Galloway and Reggie Wayne immediately come to mind..

IMO gotta ride out the storm and add an extra TE or pass receiving RB, if they choose that route make sure they are used and not just decoys..

Zolak was saying last night how difficult it was for Decker to pick up this offense, and he supposedly knew the system..

My expectations are low for a trading for an impact WR to the NEP....

With that being said, they will probably trade for a WR... what do I know, except to expect the unexpected...

IDK. Hollister's receiving seems to have improved. The Pats will have four RBs who can catch, once Michel gets healthy. Five, if you count Bolden.

Meanwhile, Gronk has barely been used, Hogan looks fine, Dorsett looks good, Patterson looks okay. McCarron might be about where Dorsett was in the first half of last season.

Guys are making a lot of good plays out there, even without much offensive scheming.

I really don't see any reason for the panic that some folks are in.

Why do you think some of us was concerned all this time?? With Edelman everything works without him the D will have a easier time scheming.

Yes, this is one of those frustratingly silly times when news outlets manufacture a story out of thin air. Speculate, talk about said speculation, pretend the fact that people are talking about the speculation somehow substantiates said speculation, lather, rinse, repeat.

And the world spins madly on.
I highly doubt they trade for him. But if DT becomes a cap casualty then things could get interesting and I would be all over it.

The issue is that Dorsett has had good camps/preseasons in the past but once the regular season comes, he has issues getting off the press. I’m not in the “hater” camp as much as I am in the “wait and see” camp because I’ve seen very little to date that makes me think he’ll be a quality receiver. I’d love, LOVE to be wrong though. His skill set is exactly what the 2018 offense needs.

Thomas' $8.5M salary for 2018 was fully-guaranteed as of last season. The Donkeys save nothing against the cap by cutting him. Their only hope of saving that cap space is via a trade.
