Florio: Early Season Ratings Decline Continues for NFL

It's funny the NFL is dumb enough to believe it has do with the national anthem protests rather than ten years of watching a moronic tyrant destroy the league.

Question for Bob Kraft: Are the fans of the other 31 paying you back for your cowardice? Glad you satisfied them?

People in the media and the league were giving Goodell credit when ratings and revenues were expanding. How is he not responsible when things go bad?

The NFL really needs a post college development league again. I know that NFL Europe was losing money but if you want a good product then you need to be able to have something more than the CFL to try and develop players.

Interesting that you think the decline is quality related. What leads you to that conclusion?

I ask because while I would agree that early season quality is impacted by the lack of real practice now (walkthroughs and 'two hand touch' mandated practices make it tough to teach tackling), I haven't seen any huge shifts in on field quality writ large. Parity remains a thing...look at Minnesota this year.

Is lack of a minor league really a ratings impact????

Here's another reason that ratings are down: BS like this from Dean Blandino. Most people are sick of politicians and their constant spinning of everything to make their guys look good. When it's obvious that the "head of officiating" is doing the same thing, it turns people off.

Blandino admits “bad visual” but maintains right call made on Duke Johnson fumble

Dean, just go back to your stripper-filled party bus with Jerrah.

Pro football is no longer a sport and hasn't been for awhile. It's a business controlled by the NFL office to maximize profits for owners. And in the mean time they have to pay overrated players millions. When it appears most important games are rigged a lot of fans lose interest. I use to watch about every game i could get on local programming. Not so much any more.

im not saying its directly effecting ratings, im saying that the lack of development can be corrected with a development league. Rookies need more time to get up to speed and if you arent going to have a long training camp then a D-League could be the help you need to improve skills and retain talent

FS1's Whitlock: 'Hyper-Progressive Movement That Has Lurched Into Sports' to Blame for Low NFL Ratings - Breitbart

I completely agree with Whitlock here, I watch sports to see sports. IF I want to be told how to think, I'd watch any of the Network newscasts. BSPN, has become an unwatchable left wing tool. I'm shocked that the Sportscenter anchors aren't wearing "I'm with her" t-shirts.

Then you have to turn on NBC and listen to that midget Bob Costas spew his liberal ********. More and more it becomes unwatchable and the ratings are starting to show it.

Too many games ... they should have stuck with Sunday and Monday night football ...
Also the crew calling the games are too watered down.

To save others the click. This isn't an article it's just Whitlock using the ratings drop to further his agenda. Literally no facts just his opinion.

Thanks for telling everyone how to think, Hillary

You've got the wrong forum.....AGAIN, Ted.

So an article about why Whitlock thinks the NFLnratings is down doesn't below in a thread entitled "NFL ratings are down".

I have to admit that hearing that the ratings went down each week, gives me more pleasure than hearing that the Jets lost. I mean what do they expect? Given the practice limitations, teams really aren't ready to play for real anytime before October. I'm sure that's one of the reasons we get so many injuries so early in the season. They still aren't in football shape. I would guess that back before the current CBA, teams had as much contact in a week as they do now in the entire preseason. Most starters play less and less in the preseason games, and yet are all expected to 1oo% on opening day. Is it any wonder we see missed tackles even by some of the better players in the league?
