It really is a sham. Poorly execute a generally bad decision and get rewarded with a game changing call. I don't like it when we get them, and I hate it when we get those calls against us. These calls literally reward some of the most uncompetitive plays in football.
It's why you posted it ...guess who is second

Another good point. The thing that gets me most is the bail out on a bad play. Compound that with underhanded play design, to be blunt, the league can do far better.I completely agree. If interference occurs because a receiver is trying to come back to the ball by running through a defender, then I really don't think it should be considered DPI. Basically, it shouldn't be possible to induce DPI by design.
What is that rule? I don't watch much college football. They should switch to the ncaa pass interference rule

My only concern about the college approach to PI is that DB's would maul receivers for it when they knew they were burned if the PI will be less than the actual catch (or a touchdown)
Maybe this is still a good trade off, though. I guess it probably would be.

Stats are not always true. If the ball is thrown way down there, what does he have to do with the penalty? Explain that to me,” Browner deadpanned, before finally cracking. “I’m having fun with this right now.”
“I think it’s more so the receiver slowing down and coming to the ball,” Browner said of the Ravens’ ability to draw penalties.
“If you’re in good coverage and got your eyes back on the ball, you have a good chance of making a play on the ball and not pass interference.”
