I just read the thread on how Nick Foles retired and unfortunately reminded me of the Super Bowl loss to him. This was going to be a top 5 but I remembered another one. This was just off the top of my head after thinking about it for 15 minutes. I know this is all recent past stuff but my memory from the 80's, 90's and 2000's is fading too much. Anyone else want to add to the list or make their own?

6. Peyton Hillis going bonkers for no reason ruining my anniversary in Cleveland when my wife and I went to that game in 2010.

5. Jump Ball Joe Flacco making pass interference a legit strategy by underthrowing all his passes 5 yards short.

4. Dolphins deciding to try out a gimmicky high school wildcat formation for the first time that absolutely devastates us.

3. Dolphins seeming to always automatically win our second matchups of the season in Miami with the "Miracle in Miami" kickoff return being the end all be all.

2. Despite Tom Brady throwing for over 500 yards and 3 TD's Nick Foles randomly decides to keep up the same pace to help outscore us.

1. And of course Eli Manning playing above average for most of his career and then going nuclear levels of dumb luck only during our Super Bowls with him.

Pats somehow lose to Jake Plummer’s Broncos in the divisional round

Gostkowski misses a game winning FG with no time left so Pats lose to Kevin Kolb’s Cardinals. 2012 I think

When it comes to fluky BS at the expense of the Pats the first two words that come into my head are Robert Edwards. They're closely followed by the bleeping helmet catch. Which is usually followed by whiskey, swearing and a bout of ill temper. So, yeah... thanks for that

Mark Sanchez carves up the Pats D in the 2010 AFCDG.

The replacement refs saying the field goal was good in Baltimore when it clearly wasn’t which resulted in a Ravens victory.

Losing in Buffalo with a 21-0 lead in 2011 where Tom started throwing a ton of INT’s to lose the game.

The whole 2005 divisional gm in denver. Kevin faulk fumbled, total bs pi on asante in the end zone, brady near pick 6 + bs ruling on bailey’s fumble, av shanks a gimme, troy muffs a punt then the refs blow it (again!) when he was contacted before the ball hit the ground. Never seen a game more full of fluke bs

I guess it doesn’t exactly fit the current exercise, but I always thought the 2015 squad was the best one of the ‘second dynasty’ era. But an abnormal slew injuries to key personnel did us in. That team was rolling in the first month or two and - despite losing key contributors - was still a few plays away from making yet another SB.

Is that when Wilfork got a turnover with not much time on the clock? Thought is was gonna be a miracle win.

Pick up PI flag on Gronk at the end of the Panthers game in... 2013? Forget which year.

The sheer amount of injuries in 2015. By the end of the year, the list included:

Blount
Develin
Dobson
Easley
Fletcher
Flowers
Brandon Gibson
Rufus Johnson
Chris Jones
Bryan Stork
Lewis
Solder
Tyms
Wendell
Edelman was banged up towards the end.. meh.

Tyree.

And pretty much a regurgitation of some of what's already been posted. **** Foles.

Oh dear...this the AFCCG where BB suicidally went for it twice in routine FG range in the fourth quarter with no OL

Top 5 BB moron decisions. Ghost was not injured and not a bum.

And, like Vinatieri, he was even more likely to hit later in the game after missing one early with the game NOT on the line.

This was a mess, but with a ton of warnings beforehand:

The Patriots were NOT focused on a threepeat. Belichick whiffed on it. It's part of the 'take the good with the bad' with Bill.

Rodney was hurt...and stayed in Atlanta for the game. Wait. What? For God's sake, you desperately need him in that locker room firing up his teammates before the game and on that sideline for every play.

I believe the team flew out a day or two before. Nothing to see here, no big deal, business as usual, just another game.

The Patriots have been even more historically putrid in Denver than they have in Miami.

Go ahead, read the above again.

After routing the Jags, they should have got packed and got out to Denver by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. This is the NFL playoffs, not a country club where you're lounging comfortably at poolside.

Belichick did not treat this game as seriously as he should have.

And Tom Brady? Tom did a precursor to his "I think we'll score more than fourteen points" SB42 back-to-bite-you-in-the-ass remark with a pregame "I hope I don't throw a pick to Champ Bailey".

The Patriots were fat & happy. And come game time they were tight, nervous and ready to be upset by Jake Plummer.

The officials sucked but you expect that.

Maybe but tbh I don’t think the team was that good that year. Blown out at home by the Chargers and Colts and they gave up over 390 yards of offense in something like 8 games in a row. Injuries had a lot to do with that but the talent regressed a bit too.
