I was always disappointed with Ben Watson development and I absolutely hated the pick in ‘04. I wanted Steven Jackson over trading for Dillon for the long term.Worst TE production in the league classic for this OC
He needs more velocity. One of the plays that will be remembered more as a drop that people will give him pass on is the potential touchdown. Yes he was accurate but the ball floated there and the receiver had to let up to not overrun the spot which allowed the defensive back to play tighter coverage. Should have been a catch but the lack of speed on the ball made it harder for the receiver who needed to both adjust and deal with a defender who shouldn't have been playing as tight.I think his arm is strong enough and he managed to fit the ball into some tight windows when needed. He looked calm and decisive under pressure which is great.. Even the passes looked calm
Cam within the offense was also trash. The offense is now improved. Cam is not.No-offseason, new, advanced system, bare TE, WR room ..
Cam did only throw for 8 TD last season, but exactly, stats without context .. you want to lay waste to Cam because of 8 TD last season, look at the context .. the offense outside of QB was trash
I'm not sure i've watched that pass a lot and i think he just missed him. He could have led the receiver more but wilkerson didn't ease up much. That said he's got accuracy and makes good reads which are much harder to improve on in a QB. A throwing coach should help speed him up.
Cam should have had more than 8 TD passing last season. Edelman missed practically the entire season, but when Edelman was in, had a career high in receiving with Cam as QB, not Brady, despite being with Brady for a decade, and Cam, only months.
Last season Cam had no TE's too .. and no off-season, or pre-season .. get that woulda, shoulda, coulda out of here.
I think there's a fair share of blame for McD to be had, but he also isnt dialing up bounce and skip passes. At some point you have to look past the offensive coordinator and say: our players (QB) have to execute. To be fair it's not easy for Cam to get TD passes when there is zero play action called at the goal line and you're pigeon holed as a running QB. As an example Jacobi Meyers is an excellent WR and it's not his fault he had no TD catches (not even targeted) last year. Reason one million why the OC needs to change.

I’ve rewatched that play a dozen times, that was a perfectly placed pass. An NFL receiver catches that ball for a TD. I will also say I thought the defender should’ve been flagged and it should’ve been 1st and goal at the 1.He needs more velocity. Accuracy isn't the issue. The speed of the pass is. The receiver had to slow down and let up so that he wouldn't overrun the spot. Because of that fact, the defender was able to close in and despite the accuracy that became a pass that was now going into a tight window. Receiver should have caught it, but it was significantly harder on the receiver than a pass like that should have been because the accuracy was undermined by the timing.I’ve rewatched that play a dozen times, that was a perfectly placed pass. Get some super glue for your head. Mac ain’t starting week 1. I’m as big a Mac Jones fan as anyone here, but I know Belichick is gonna start Cam until he totally sh!ts the bed or gets hurt. Unless Mac throws for 300 yards and 3 tds (0 INTs) in each remaining preseason game, Mac starts the season as QB2.I will literally lose my lose my head if Mac doesn't start Week 1.
At no point did the receiver slow up, in fact if he ran a tick faster the defender doesn’t get near him. It was a perfect pass.Accuracy isn't the issue. The speed of the pass is. What realistically should have happened is the ball gets there faster, the receiver gets to have the ball hit him in stride away from a defender and he has a clear view of the ball and more room to work for the catch.

Regardless, a legit NFL wr makes that catch. If Mac also threw it sooner by a tick and led him about 6 inches more, it is a TD.
That's a bigger issue. Our entire WR group are JAGs. That is why Mac has to be better.Regardless, a legit NFL wr makes that catch.
Please don't quit your day job. You're evaluation of our receivers isn't remotely close to accurate. That's a bigger issue. Our entire WR group are JAGs. That is why Mac has to be better.
Ok. Have you quit yours? Please don't quit your day job. You're evaluation of our receivers isn't remotely close to accurate.
