Fantastic night for Phillip Dorsett

That long wide open touchdown reminded me of a line from "Secretariat", when he was 30 lengths ahead at the Belmont and the trainer yelled, "Ronnie don't fall off".

PD, don't miss it...

During the game and while pondering the addition of AB, Ben Watson and KVN I started thinking "you about to see some things you ain't never seen before"

A couple of quick facts regarding Dorsett's completion streak:

When he started running more precision routes last season instead of just having him run go routes, he became a much better player. Really like how far he's come

He had a great game but this is what happens when Edelman and Gordon command the attention of the best dbs. He gets to tee off against the 3rd and4th cbs. It gets even more ridiculous with Brown in and we have 4-5 wr sets.

On the two big plays, Dorsett just killed the defense with speed. On one of them, the defender couldn't adjust fast enough. On the other, the speed with which Dorsett got on the safeties led to confusion about which one was supposed to take him, and, by the time the safeties even started to process that, Dorsett was by them and TB12 was tossing the easy TD pass.

That is what happens when Edelman and Gordon commands more of the attention. Confusion insues and PD gets a better matchup. AB should really open things up even more.

Time to up my thread Dorset over/under 1000 jardas?

The field is only 100 yards long and 53.333 yards wide.

Dorsett was making catches last year, when Edelman was serving his suspension and Gordon wasn't yet back. Were they commanding attention from the sidelines?

He is good.

Have you forgotten how Dorsett and Hogan performed when tasked with wr#1-2 duties while Edelman was out.

Great game by Dorsett also don't forget about James White out the Backfield he's a mismatch and the Defense have to account for him. Even Rex Burkhead to some extent is a threat how do you account for so many weapons. A player like Dorsett could easily get lost in the shuffle.

No. Apparently, though, you have. Of course, that has nothing to do with what happened last night, anyway.

Love Dorsett does everything he can for the team and Brady trusts him. That is always going to be a winning Combination

I almost feel like the Edelman suspension was the best thing that could have happened to Dorsett because they started making him run more precision routes and it brought out a new part of his game. Cornerbacks don't sit back on him as much now because they have to respect how dangerous and quick he is underneath and outside, which now seems to give him more space to get behind guys. If he didn't get that extra time where they needed him to do more, he might not have taken this next step. Really glad to see him grow as a player.

Love seeing Dorsett killing it.

I know some posters here who think he sucks was not enjoying that as much as me.

Probably closer to

Thanks for the updated insight!

"It would be a waste a decent player we already know what Dorsett can do not much and Meyers might not be ready for prime time. The Gunner active over say a Thomas might raise some eyebrows."

"Well I'm going to go with History or His-Story DemaryiusThomas that is he's a proven player in this league the same cannot be said for the paltry production Dorsett."

Yes good trade for both teams in the end.

He did not choose his draft position, but has been a model patriot since he has arrived-Positive, grinded, helped the team. Best looking receiver in training camp games and again last night. David Patten is a nice player comparison.

Sure seems today to be a better complimentary receiver for the team than Thomas. Definitely would be stoked with an Edleman contract.

Dorsett led the team in receiving yards and took 2 balls across the line. For a guy who half the board wanted to cut, he had one heck of a game 1.

Brady was mentioning all preseason that he's been developing chemistry with Dorsett , I think he literally called PD "fun to throw to" at one point and we sure saw that. Dude's got some speed and can definitely get open down the field, he showed that last night.

If defenses have to take Dorsett seriously, alongside our other heavier weapons, this could be a fun season. Like they go to cover 1 zone to double team Gordon on a short route where he can use his hands and body, but McD throws Brown down one sideline and Dorsett down the other and White mucking around down by the first down marker. Good luck guys!
Boy we never let an opportunity to take pot shots at each other go to waste do we
