My conspiracy theory is that Berry needs surgery, but that the Chiefs told him not to because they didn’t want to activate his $7.25 million in injury guarantees. He could probably just barely pass a physical the way it was, but would have thoroughly flunked a physical if he had the surgery.

Coincidentally I just recently read through Chao's thoughts about Berry's situation regarding the Haglund's deformity (see Why no surgery might be best course for Eric Berry)
