You should look up who incarcerated bob is, then.

Basically, I don't see why you insist that having a report is better than not having a report. Any good reporter would rather put out no report than one that they aren't sure is correct.

Insist that having a report is better than not having a report? Oh - ok. Since I never said that, let me put it this way. Instead of being blind to the situation that is currently in front of Aaron Hernandez, put yourself in his shoes and tell me if what has been reported was inaccurate, that he and his attornies at Ropes and Grey would be doing their damnest to stop what is going on and actually cooperate if he in fact did NOTHING.

There's no point in the lawyers or Hernandez doing anything right now. I think it's fairly clear that Hernandez is involved in all of this in some way. What we don't know is where he is on the scale from pulling the trigger to just helping to cover up afterward. He has nothing to gain by telling his story to the media, but that puts million of brains toward finding inconsistencies. It seems to me that he plans to tell his story once, and that's in the courtroom. From a pure standpoint of saving his own behind, it's the safest option because then nobody can find any inconsistencies between what he says now to police and to media and what he says in court.

This really isn't a whole lot different from what Belichick does. If he makes an unpopular personnel move, he's not going to bother to explain his reasoning to the media. He doesn't need support from the media or fans. He just needs to win football games. Hernandez doesn't need support from the media or even from police. He needs to win over whoever is making the final decision in the trial.

And of course the mediot trolls have to join in on the fun.

Aaron Hernandez situation signals that Patriots Way has lost its way - Sports - The Boston Globe

To give you an idea of the drivel the CHB is trying to spew:

(1) They didn't.
(2) You can't think of a reason why, IF they had called him in—which, apparently, they didn't—they'd actually want to speak to him in person?

It's disgusting hit pieces like this that make me think: "Yeah, BB's contempt of the sports media is pretty justified." I'm infuriated, yet not at all surprised, that they'd use the actions of one player to make an attempt to discredit the organization.

Did you see the tweet that was posted that about 80% of all these reports are false?

That quote didn't mean that 80% of all the things being specifically said about Hernandez are false; it was referring to rumors in general in the new business.

In this case, I was pretty certain that 'imminent arrest' report was false, since police never announce these things in advance, but witness statements like this that get leaked are usually not inaccurate.

Especially considering that if this is the kind of guy that Hernandez really is, they did a damn good job of making him look like a model citizen.

well...anyway...it's Friday........Monday-"did you hear? Ahern is a killer!!!!!..definitely did it!!!"...Tuesday-"just a matter of time now!!!! They got him!!! he did it!!! he's a murderer!!!!"...Wednesday-"just tying up loose ends now before he surrenders!!! It's over !! he's a murderer and the Patriots have lost their way!!!! It's all real bad!!"...Thursday "he smashed his phone! ripped out his security system on Monday!!!! It's PROOF!!! He wouldn't co-operate!!!! he did it!!!! Guilty guilty guilty!!!!"...now it's Friday...so far I've read THE MOST INCOMPREHENSIBLY STUPID ADMISSION by a so called "Pats fan" EVER on this board..."who is Incarcerated Bob???"

Oh gee...I don't know...I guess...if you've been living under a rock on planet URANUS...jeezus....my ten year old nephew knows who Incarcerated Bob is and he's only been a Patriot fan for a couple of years....that can mean only one thing...YOU are not a Patriot fan, in fact, it's practically impossible to be ANY fan of any team in the NFL and not know who Incarcerated Bob is...but especially any fan of any team in the AFC East.

A smashed cell phone and a ripped out security system sure IS curious....BUT...and it's a HUGE HUGE HUGE but...the phone has been turned over to authorities on request...YOU lied about that...the system was ripped out BUT long before the authorities knew there was even a case. YOU want to claim Hernandez did this in RESPONSE to the police...the truth is, at that point, the police were not involved. Circumstantial evidence....not "he definitely did it and he's a murderer!!!!!" evidence.

Now it's time for YOU to come clean...just what is YOUR agenda?...why did YOU sign up here under the guise of a Patriot fan? Don't try to run for cover...there's plenty of people who post here who are adversarial to my points of view that I'm willing to bet will NOT give you shelter for that huge faux pas...."who is Incarcerated Bob"...best step-on-**** post of the week.

It's over, Joker...

I got a good buddy heading the Hernandez investigation...

I can't name him here, but it appears Hernandez was the trigger man, take it for what it's worth, they're building the case, but Hernandez is going down.

AH is done! Over! The stories are out there with the facts. We should have a trial occur as soon as possible so we can put him in jail and throw away the damn key! Maybe the murderous bastard can share a cell block with others where the facts of guilt clearly were out there in the public domain. People such as the sexual assault guilty Julian Edelman, those menace to society Duke LaCrosse rapists, the Olympic Park terrorist bomber Richard Jewell, everyone of those sick and clearly guilty proprietors of the McMartin preschool.

The media is largely a cesspool of sensationalism. Whatever strikes the public viscerally will be taken to the nth degree by the next news cycle while the facts, time after time after time after time, are equal to an etch-o-sketch. Yet these etch-sketch "facts" are gobbled up without very much "hmmm, can these guys really be trusted?". For the whom the bell tolls?

The appearance in this situation, for AH, does not look good. He very well may be guilty. But Sports Illustrated, ESPN, MSNBC, CNN, Fox, The Globe, NY Times (among many others) is always to be VERY questioned about what they report. They all have RICHLY earned that deep skepticism.

who's Incarcerated Bob????????????????????????????????????

You are a naive idealist if you believe *well if he didn't do anything, he should spill every word in his head to the police then go out into the media and start talking as loud as he can*. It's tantamount to believing "I didn't do anything wrong, I don't need a lawyer". If you are the target, even just slightly, of an investigation, you need a lawyer regardless if you are as innocent as the driven snow.
While the Man of Steel's belief of "truth, justice" motto may make for a good movie, truth and justice can have little to do with the criminal justice system. The criminal justice system (and the media) is a game. Those who don't play it like a game expose themselves to being used up then maybe thrown in the gray bar hotel. Those who recognize it is a game, get a lawyer. The first thing a lawyer then tells you, (Please be quiet - edited)! Don't speak, not to the media, not to the police, not to your neighbor, not to your best friend, not to your dog. Just (Please be quiet - edited)! And if AH, or anyone, has a brain in their head they follow what their lawyer says.
Mine is a jaded view? Sure. But when you look at the criminal justice system and see things like money = justice (how is that truth?), where there are many cases of people being railroaded by the justice system, you must treat it like a game and play the game accordingly.

the one that gets me is "he smashed his cell phone!!!! That proves it!!!!"...I mean, just what level of sophistication are we dealing with on this board? I just went online and look at my call records for the last six months...how the hell does smashing my cell stop ANYONE from doing the same thing with a warrant???

If the argument is "well, it's not the calls , it's photos!!! That's it!!! He took murder shots! and smashed the phone!!! he's guilty of murder!!!"...yeah, uh, your cell phone has a smart chip. Did he smash the smart chip??? Has anyone read that??? Has anyone said that???...no...what has been said was the phone was broken in pieces and all the pieces were handed over...well, if the chip is intact, who friggin' cares about the dyam pieces??????

I was thinking the same thing. Calls, texts, positioning information are sitting on a server farm somewhere in the cornfields of Nebraska or Iowa. And if there is incriminating data on non volatile ram, while I'm not certain if the comparison is valid this, smashing a hard disk is not sufficient. Crime labs can still get some information. But what data other than Calls, texts, Positioning is there. Pictures?? Really? Or M\maybe he had downloaded the new hot App called Murder Recording, The Game!

This may be hard to believe given the situation is so calm and unimportant for AH, however, why is it impossible that he did to his phone what I did to the remote control after seeing Eli get not-sacked in the SB a few years ago? But I guess I am forgetting even more evidence. He did admit to smoking pot (haven't you seen reefer madness? Guilty!). I bet he listened to that demonic music and played those violent video games. And that scowl he sometimes has, come on, that's got murdered written all over it! Plus Ron Borges says so!

Look, he may be guilty. I just know this as absolute fact: because the media says it loudly and repetitively doesn't make it so.....not by a lot. And just because a police detective and a prosecutor says it is so still does not make it so (Mike Nifong says hello). And as time goes on there may, as hard as this is to believe, just may be evidence that comes out to contradict the "near certainty" of his guilt.

OK...WBZ reports that Hernandez is going to be arrested on a warrant for obstruction of justice...5:45 am Friday morning here

When yer lookin' fer tha late nite skinny on the Ahern debacle, where ya gonna go?
Patsfans and cue Joker's recent activity. That outta getcha right up to date to within the last 10 minutes, REAL time.

Thanks Joker. You could prolly charge for this service, ya know.

Oh boy, "obstruction" is the sweet spot of further speculation and endless debate of its implications for the player and team

Searching the web...as of now I see only WBZ the ones to be reporting it. Now I'm not saying there is/isn't a warrant out, or he is/isn't guilty in all this, but there's been so many conflicting reports in all this, I'm just taking a wait and see approach. He was supposed to be arrested 24 hours ago, but then again , he went from North Attelboro to Foxboro then to Boston then back to N. Attelboro....no arrest. That report was false, as many have been.

"That means he was the shooter and pled out to pin it on one of the other guys."

Welp, we're the Ravens now - that is, if he's found guilty. Actually, we'd be the Ravens if this was Tom. But close enough.
