Brady has always been a proud fixture in the pocket. He often doesn't even step up. But over the years, he's seen howDrew Brees and Aaron Rodgers andRussell Wilson and Alex Smith and yes, Manning, move in the pocket and extend plays. Manning has worked especially hard at becoming more nimble, always trying to limit any deficiency. And his chief rival for the greatest quarterback of their era has noticed and been inspired to do the same, because, as Bill Belichick says, "The longer the play extends, then the more separation there is between that underneath level and the deep level."

As i said elsewhere , this has been a big factor in our improved play.

Its unreal to me that Brady is throwing on the run better at 37 than ever before. Obviously he had quicker feet 10 years ago but he could not throw strikes on the run 10 years ago like he does now.

He really is playing like a man possessed. I honestly think all the talk after the KC debacle made him really upset.

This might be Brady's most impressive year when you take everything into account. We are truly lucky to have him as our QB

Brady said one thing to Wickersham, and Wickersham ran with it. No one has ever moved better in the pocket than Brady with the possible exception of Dan Marino. Brady has always excelled at this, and he's excelled throughout his career at throwing even without setting his feet. It's bizarre that Wickersham wrote this article, when no one other modern QBs have Brady's pocket movement. Brady's quote was no doubt about rolling out to the sidelines and throwing on the run, which is an entirely different thing.

No question Brady is playing better, but more Gronk, LaFell and an improve o-line has given TB12 the confidence to slide around and make plays.

I think it was Jaws who used to say Brady had the best footwork in the pocket in the NFL.
Maybe he's a tick off of that but not by much ... that was accompanied by some video showing the drills Tom does in a grid of cones. I believed he learned that from his longtime friend and QB coach Tom Martinez.

Brady's pocket movement and awareness slumped in 2012 and 2013. There may have been a couple of years where is pocket awareness and sliding were better than they are today, but his mobility and throwing on the run are easily better than they've ever been.

I don't remember the year, but yes, I agree he slumped. TD numbers aren't relevant. Brady kept moving up in the pocket too far, and/or too soon, allowing defenders to easily disengage from the tackles back into the pocket to get him. I'd say he's been paying more attention throughout last year; I haven't noticed him doing it anymore.

I'm referring to his pocket awareness and movement specifically. That was the first year he started flinching for "ghost" rushers. His pocket awareness and movement wasn't bad those years, it simply wasn't as good as previous years. In 2010 and 2011, his pocket awareness/movement was excellent.
