Keep it simple, guys. "This team hates its coach."

"This quarterback hates his coach who hates his owner" is just too damn hard to follow.

We've all seen enough of Patriots coverage to know that it's not typically an exercise in information so much as WWE-style entertainment. Building a story line has come to be a perfectly accepted form of sports coverage. Anything beyond "The Packers Power Sweep depended on a seal inside and a seal outside, and running the ball between the receiver and the tight end," is questionable.

Of course, what entertains others and what irritates all of us is the possibility that we'll find out after the fact that there was something to this story. We have no proof either way, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe this is true (over a promising prospect - Jimmy G - as opposed to the idol he's been built into for story purposes.)

I'd rather be the fool who disbelieves the ranting "prophet" on the streetcorner, than the fool who believes him, I suppose. One day there will be one of them ranting right before a meteor strike or something. The problem is that they commonly appear and rant about the end of the world even when the world doesn't end.

Here's Adam Schefter (warning - ESPN video) refuting the Belichick to the Giants rumors. No sources other than his contract though, just logic.

Logic trumps innuendo and unnamed sources.

I think there are dark days in our not too distant future

What bothers me is that the Pats dealt Brissett, then dealt Garoppolo and have Phillip Dorset and a 2nd rounder to show for it while they have a 40 year old QB

I think there a decent chance that Kraft went against B.B. for non football reasons, and if so, I think B.B. going to quit after this year. I also think that McDaniels will leave since garoppolo was his work of art and don’t think he’d be interested in coaching a 41 year old Brady and dealing with the arguments on the sideline.

I hope it’s not true, but that’s what it’s starting to smell like

It will be interesting to hear Brady when he get drilled at the next presser

I don't. I could see that 41 year old QB still looking good enough. BB will be coaching the New England patriots in 2018.

You wandering dangerously close to troll area now. Because nothing of what you are saying is making any sense especially in the light of what the beat writers have said in the past 24h.

No way disputes over Guerrero and Garoppolo cause a permanent rift in a team that built such a great football dynasty. I'm not even going to comment on Guerrero--he's an outside trainer, and Brady is smart enough to understand that even if he is totally captivated by Alex, all the players and trainers and coaches and team docs need to be on the same page. That principle is paramount.

And then Jimmy G: I mean, no matter what you think of the decision about who to bet on at QB for the next few years, can we all agree that in no scenario can you say sticking with TB12 was unquestionably the wrong decision? I don't care how well JG has played in last 5 games. If Brady were FALTERING this year, instead of having an MVP level season, then sure, go ahead, believe trash like Shaughnessy that Kraft decided with his "heart" becasuse Brady was like a son. Nope. Perfectly plausible that Kraft was consulting (A) his brain and (B) his wallet and came to a perfectly logical, rational decision that what was best for the team was to trade JG at the deadline. And that BB, despite his fondness for JG and that he didn't get to coach him as the successor, actually AGREED using stone cold logic.

Simplest answer is correct.

How is any about this interesting ? You said it yourself.. BB negotiated the entire trade and then checked with the owner of the team if he would sign off on that trade. That is how it is supposed to work..
It's interesting in the fact that it debunks everything the talking heads would have you believe about the coach/gm and ownership dynamics.

Is there anything left in this story that hasn’t been debunked?
Wickersham looks like a fool.

Yeah, this is fast even for him. Less than 48 hours, a billion sources came out and said he was full of ****.

BB wouldn't have needed to "orchestrate" or even be aware of any pranking by (probably) low-level "staffers" and interns - most likely from the Marketing Dept. (aka, Satan's Minions).

I think it was "Matt" something. It always is.

I know this is Kraft's side of the story. But no way he says anything that would exacerbate the situation.

So my biggest take away is that it's interesting that BB is seeking Kraft's opinion on a Jimmy trade. Because the media would have you believe BB would quit if Kraft meddled with Brady. How dare the owner have a say on the people he employs. We'll actually BB checks with him regarding the back up QB so obviously he knows Kraft will have input on Brady.

Story over.

Nowhere in that did it say Belichick asked Kraft’s opinion on trading Garrapolo.

Yikes.

Basically the Garrapolites are saying that if they don’t deny it happened, and if they do deny it then it still happened.

Its been reported that BB is still the highest paid coach in the NFL.

When Tate Frazier (or someone else) on one of the Ringer podcasts said that Gruden will become the highest paid coach in the league Lombardi had an instant throwaway line saying "not for long".

Would not be surprised if BB has an understand with Kraft that he gets whatever the highest coach gets + 1.

It won’t be long before the dingleberries blame kraft for everything......again

Also quite a coincidence these street profits always show up on the street corners when the NFL playoffs seedings are know.

Does it have to be stated? BB called Kraft. Kraft thought about it spoke to his son about and got back to BB.
