I don't think BB would waste a single minute orchestrating a hit piece which made Sham look like a fool or Tom like a primadonna.
But the talking heads are convinced Belichick is behind it.

Watching BB coach another team would be like Shula coaching another team after his dolphins stint. It never happened and just can't see it happening.

Sometimes I feel like a homeroll (homer+troll) but someone will post something funny and I return to homer status. Thank you.

There are plenty of people here I disagree with regularly but they aren’t trolls. The people I consider trolls are those who are only posting to try and goad and antagonize poster’s here. They don’t contribute anything to the threads and they are simply trying to derail the discussions. And the fact that they are openly rooting for the Patriots to fail pretty much certifies the fact that they aren’t Patriot fans and are in fact just trolling this forum to disrupt it.

Miguel tweeted something yesterday that destroys that argument (I think), and I haven't seen it mentioned yet in this thread.
It hasn't been mentioned in this thread, but it absolutely has been mentioned in many threads here when discussing Brady vs. JG. It's been said many times that Brady was uncuttable/untradeable due to salary cap concerns until you got far enough into 2018.

But the talking heads are convinced Belichick is behind it.
In the past, Bill has pulled a reporter aside to feed them info (see Curren's article about Mike Kensil which came out of nowhere). But this? No way.

Wickersham's "foundation" for his claim about a BB-Kraft rift is his claim that BB wanted to trade Brady and keep JG but Kraft "ordered" BB to keep Brady and trade JG.
I don't think that's quite right. Wickersham wasn't claiming (that I recall) that BB wanted to trade Brady this season. I read it as Wickersham claiming that BB wanted to move to JG in 2019 (why else would BB allegedly be offering to make JG a very well-paid backup with a promise of being a starter?). In other words, getting rid of Brady before the 2019 season. Well after the date you're talking about. And even if 2018 rather than 2019, that's still a cut/trade date for Brady that's after the date you're talking about.

Correct. The math does not work.

In 2018 Tom's dead cap is $14m and cap # is $22m.

2019 dead cap is $7m. That's reasonable to absorb if he's jettisoned

Paying Jimmy + Tom (on the team or not) is cap hell.

BB wouldn't have needed to "orchestrate" or even be aware of any pranking by (probably) low-level "staffers" and interns - most likely from the Marketing Dept. (aka, Satan's Minions).

I want 1, 2, 3 or all 4 things in this order.

1. The team to win more Super Bowls
2. BB to stay and run the show
3. Tom to stay and retire here.
4. The next Brady to be drafted .

Love TB12 but sorry, as long as they are a legit title contender who is under center is irrelevent to me.

Going 4-12 just so Tom can finish his career here isn't appealing to me at all.

Why is this Garrapollite troll allowed to post here?!? Ban him!

No ESPN reporter other than Adam Schefter has even the most basic understanding of NFL salary cap rules.

Or maybe... A few others do, but choose to ignore them and write nonsense anyway, since 99% of their readers do not

If that's the assumption then sure. The problem is if these are Patriots employee s that pulled this prank they will be held accountable.

Again, I'm only referring to this season's cap situation as it evolved (deteriorated) over time and specifically in regard to the context of this thread discussing Wickersham's BS.

There was a point this off-season - after June 1st - when the Pats had the cap space to absorb the hit from trading Brady. However, the way things played out with injuries later, they'd have been up ****'s Creek, cap-wise, by the trade deadline.

While I agree with this I doubt Belichick would be happy about any staffer contributing to disruptive behavior leading into the playoffs.

That said the stuff about Brady demanding to be called “sir,” Garrapolo being locked out of a facility he had a pass key to, and Patriot of the Week all are so far fetched that it’s hard to see it as anything but pranking.

You’re a perfect example Quantum, I don’t agree with you at all on this issue but in no way do I consider you a troll. You’re dead wrong and completely unable to back up any of your takes on the Garrapolo issue but you don’t post simply to try and antagonize people.

Tomase should have been clipped on the street after what he did in 2007 just before the Super bowl. This fat **** needs his nuts kicked up to his throat.

Tomase hates the Patriots and takes every opportunity to sh.t on them,
