The thing is AVP's track record is exclusively being a first year OC who has to make up the gameplan and call plays (two things Bienemy did not do in KC) and has one of the worst lines and receiving casts in the NFL (something Bienemy never dealt with, even in the jobs he got fired from).EB is not great. But AVP's track record is worse. AVP has never been an OC because noone trusted him to design and call plays. If you do not want EB because of his track record, and are being objective, AVP's track record is worse. AVP is running the #31 or #32 offense in the NFL, and previously no-one trusted him to be the OC. We now see why noone ever trusted AVP. I am not arguing for EB, I am simply pointing out that arguing against EB means you want AVP gone this year because, by objective measurement, AVP is worse the EB.
So yes, in a total vacuum, AVP does not have a resume. But it's mostly due to one year of experience where he has nowhere near the advantages or lack of responsibilities Bienemy had.
I don't mind at all saying AVP should be gone. I'm fine with that idea. I'm not crazy about the offense. But Bienemy is not my pick at all. I'm not interested.
