I don't hate TB at all. He's the greatest, and worthy of the highest respect.

But you really do him & other QB's a disservice when you diminish what Eli has done, as you did above. If Brady made the throw for the helmet catch, it would be part of his clutch legend here. That 2-minute drive Eli led in general was as clutch for a newbie in the SB as anything since Brady & the Rams.

And you could characterize some of the plays that went TB's way in the early SB years in much the same way as you did the helmet catch.

Brady's SB performances were very much more clutch than luck. He thew to open recievers and put his team in position for game-winning FGs.

Eli threw a ball into the air, trying to escape pressure and hoped it was caught and by LUCK Tyree caught it and held on to it.

How is that even comparable to Brady's 2 minute drives against the Rams or Panthers?

If Brady threw the catch to Tyree and a Giants fan told me it was only luck, why would I argue that? It clearly was. Some people call it clutch, I call it luck, how is it diminishing what other OBs done?

The Pats D held this same offense down to 17 points before the refs got involved in the last minutes of the game. I'm sure they'll have no problem doing it again, it's not like they are facing the Saints offense.

Tom has seen better pass rushes and would love throwing on the Giants weak secondary. They aren't exactly the Ravens, in fact they're not even any better than the Pats secondary.

I think the Pats would've rather played the Giants D than the 49ers D. I think playing the niners would've been a little more difficult, because the Pats aren't as familiar with them as they are the Giants.

Rivers has no postseason success, plays in an offense that throws on the west coast, barely makes the playoffs, underacheives, plays in the weakest division in football.

Talk about somebody JUST based on stats. You might as well consider Kerry Collins and Jake Plummer as elite QBs as well

At this point, you're just pulling comments out of your ass. Rivers is 3-4 in the playoffs, with 2 of the losses coming against the 2007 Patriots in the AFCCG and the 2008 SB champion Steelers.

but didn't u say don't u think he should have more than one good year of stats. My argument that he has. If you couple that with 2 Superbowl wins (this is based off us winning the superbowl), the ironman, the most road wins in postseason history, and 1-2 Superbowl MVPS - he will have the requirements to get in. Plus hes JUST hitting the prime time of QBs in their career.

Where are these good years of stats? In nine years, I think the highest he has ranked in terms of passer rating has been 7th and typically he is outside of the top 10. Now your point about his career not being over is a good one. But based on what we know now, I don't think he is Hall worthy. Think of it this way. So far your argument for letting him into the hall is based on a total of SIX games. Six incredibly important and meaningful games, but six games none the less.

There are guys with high pick numbers who negated that by great TD numbers (Favre). There are guys like Aikman and Namath who shouldn't be in the HOF. OR

QB B: 2 Super Bowl Appearances, 1 Super Bowl Win, 1 TBD

Not to mention that QB A had has Multiple MVPs and Multiple SB MVPs and some of the all time greatest seasons ever by a QB (including this year).

That play wasn't off the helmet vs the PAck, it wasn't just a toss up hail mary, it was a scripted deep ball. The ball dropped directly to Nicks, that was more of a beautiful ball by Eli than anything. The element of surprise because the defenders infront of him were waiting for an underneath route.


last time I checked the special teams had nothing to do with Eli getting lucky with his WRs.

And yes, Manning HAS played well this year, but let's not kid ourselves. He does a lot of "chucking the ball" downfield hoping for his WRs to just go up and make the miracle catch. He IS easily the luckiest QB I have ever seen play. Don't get me wrong, he's a great QB, but to say he's on Brady's level is hilarious and you're arguing this makes anything you say worthless.
