Personally I didnt really want him but if he has anything left to give this was probably the best place for him in a system he knows and that leaves me thinking what the hell why couldnt he have just gone away.

One of the greats but it was clear two seasons ago he was declining. He is absolutely done, don't see the sense in anyone being interested, let alone signing him. It is the Jets though, afterall.

That defense had a weaknes at safety - even a 70% Ed Reed is a upgrade...... Remmeber he played 5 years with Landry in Raves (SS) so hes used to Reed roaming. He knows Rex style of D etc - Trust me that 22 might be 5 fast!

IMO that's skewed when your QB turns the ball over 14 times in 9 games and your offense scores 18.8ppg. The Jets D is 8th in ypg.

The Jets D is solid IMO, they just have a big weakness at #2 CB. (Millner blows) If Millner figures it out, that's a pretty good unit. They held us to 13 and 20 points.

True. But i'm not sure Reed has been 100% healthy this season AND safety is like QBs on the D. Reading the QB and play after that is something you ain't loosing with age. Might have lost some speed, but lets see after this season if it was a good signing or not. I personaly dont like it

Is that because of the defense or because Geno Smith keeps throwing interceptions? Hard to keep the score down on repeated short fields.

As I said yesterday before the Jets were even the leading contender, I didn't really want him on the team. I think he is done. He can be a locker room lawyer. Better have him go to the Jets.

I think it is a good move by the Jets since it is a low risk move, but I still think he is done.

Cincinnati has turned the ball over more times than the Jets have, yet the Bengals are allowing 7.1 fewer points per game. I'm not sure that you can pin the Jets slightly below average scoring defense primarily on turnovers by their offense.

Is it more 'skewed' by being 24th in giveaways or 30th in takeaways?
Defenses job is to keep points off the board and only 10 defenses in the NFL are doing a worse job than the Jets at that.
