The defense was pretty bad in 2002 which was one of the main reason they missed the playoffs.
The offense wasn’t very good either, 16th in points scored per drive. The D were 20th in point per drive allowed… the entire team wasn’t very good.

Tom Brady certainly improved from 2001, but all that proves is team is more important than QB alone.

Sucks having to use tricks maybe Ian should fix that
It is what it is, although I did tweak things to help you out. Also, I just altered your signature and removed one of the images. It was way too large.

Yeah the defense was not good in 2002. 4 games with over 200 yards rushing allowed starting with Priest Holmes. It made Bill and Romeo switch to a 3-4 with Big Ted in the middle and the results were so much better.

I think Brady looked a little shook in Oakland they were really giving him a hard time about the tuck rule. The Titans game was a mess.
Remember the legend of Steve Martin in 2002? I believe it was the Jets game on SNF where he was jogging around during a play. Bill had enough of him and I think it was in Michael Holly's book "Patriot Reign".

No. You are reading it wrong. After 2001, the jury was still out whether they were a fluke. They missed the playoffs in 2002. The Pats weren’t Super Bowl favorites in 2003, but they were in 2004. After they beat Philly making it 3 Super Bowl wins out 4 years - the dynasty Pats were created.

One poster in particular admitted she started watching the Pats after they had won 3 Super Bowls and were now considered the favorites every year after their last win in 2004. This was why she’d get defensive when posters would criticize the Pats because she didn’t understand the history of what posters were referring to. That poster was the former moderator in Ashley. She was a younger poster who walked into past and present success. All she knew was that the Pats were now the “evil empire” while the older fans witnessed it all coming together.
We're beating it into the ground, but more you phrasing it wrong than me reading it wrong. They were in contention every year from 2001 onward, and were the assumed favorites from the start of the 2004 season onward (most years).

I didn't see them being completely given no chance for the 2002 season, but yeah, half the world considered 2001 a fluke at that point.

I don't know if this conversation was already supposed to be touching on Ashley's experiences of only knowing the dynastic Pats, or if this is a new turn. I liked Ashley too... in a world of internet experts trying to out-expert each other, she was an actual fan (w/a good knowledge of the game at that)

Given Vrabel has yet to play a single snap, except, sort of, in practice, I suppose the most direct route to an answer is to say, "It's Drake, of course."

I taught a philosophy course for years. Most discussions, often unfortunately, come down to a seeming dilemma, to an A or B choice that leads to, "Well, which is really more essential, A or B." In politics, for example, this often often comes down to, "Which is more important, Freedom or Equality." Sound familiar? ("Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" my ass: make up your mind." We hear that sort of thing a lot these days. Accusations of fascism or Maoism then ensue.) When that would happen in a discussion, I would sometimes point out that this might like saying, "Well, I propose to make a little salt for myself, and I understand that I need both sodium and chlorine to get that done. Which, though, is more essential, the sodium or the chlorine?" Either answer, without a lot of fancy footwork of an evasive sort, is wrong.

So they're both essential - liberty and equlity, Drake and Vrabel - to our success, let's say, and perhaps just as there are no degrees of perfection, so there are no degrees of essentiality.

This is all well and good, but I'm not sure it entirely applies. Maybe it is more like, "I propose to make lasagna, but I don't have any basil: I always use basil whern I make lasagna." Hopefully some wise and pragamatic soul will come along and say, "Use oregano."

Maybe the question outght ot be which of the two, Drake or Vrabel, is more easily replaced in such a way that the success and progress can continue? The answer, obviously, I think, is Vrabel.

I would have a slightly harder time answering the question if the choice were between Vrabel and Josh. Preliminarily, I suspect that would be a contest in which Vrabel, as superior a HC as he is, would also come out on the short end.

They used to pay me to say this sort of stuff. What a world.

Not playing this game.

He's just trolling the forum. You would think a long time poster would know better, but signbabybrady is clearly suffering from mental issues and is incapable of controlling his behavior. That and he's an *******:

I've been blocked by SBB, but nothing changes he is still an *******

It doesn't seem like you appreciate my opinion. I hope you enjoy the haters.

Huck hates Bill and wants to censor anyone with an opposite opinion.

I am going to kill this thread off because it honestly just makes sense to just let things play out and discuss the state of both guys after we see how things end up.
