It was one of the Best WR Drafts Period and we missed badly. Then we took Thornton over George Pickens because I am sure BB heard Pickens was a hot head.

IIRC, Thornton had the fastest 40 time among WRs and Marcus Jones the fastest 40 time among CBs.

I guess so but Christian Watson was the fastest player in that Draft: watching with the naked eye he went 34th to Green Bay.

I can't contain myself with how excited I am about this kid. He's got it all: skills, demeanor, leadership, competitiveness and drive. He's a GREAT teammate. When something goes wrong, he puts the blame on his shoulders, UNLIKE his laughable embarrassment of a coach.

I was wrong about holding him out until the line is league average. I was a prominent member of the group that worried about his health and development should he be thrown into this mess, but I underestimated him. He's so good he can thrive even in 2024 hell-scape of a season, with the worst coaching staff ever assembled for an NFL team and the weakest talent of any team in the league. Hindsight is 20/20. The great ones rise above and elevate their teams, no matter the circumstances. What a player. If Kraft ****s this up (and I believe he will) over loyalty to useless Jerod Mayo, it will be unforgivable. He will go down in infamy in NE.

Regarding his greatness as a teammate, how good is this quote on his one interception Sunday? I'd follow this guy into battle.

“Yeah, just try to get to him quick and hopefully he gets in,” said Maye when asked about the play after the game. “I think I put on the wrong shoulder. I think if maybe I put on the opposite shoulder away from the defender, I think that’s maybe a completion there. But it was just unfortunate that it got tipped up. So, just a bummer.”

My God, bring Bill back with his son (or Vrabel) on defense and Josh McDaniels and we have another dynasty. Oh, and Ernie Adams in the booth. The one tweak will be help with the drafting decisions.

Also, what rookie does this? The calmness against the blitz is all pro level. Knows where to go, doesn't panic. This is a great cutup of why Maye is special. Still the same things on film at UNC, but the better coaching is giving him proper outlets and reads to beat blitz. His UNC OC was soooo bad.
