Draft Rumors

Plot twist: Allen's folks leaked it in the hopes that he'd slide enough for someone like Belichick to move up for him.

He could slide out of the 1st round if the comments are that bad

If you are a QB and you made racist tweets just a few years ago, you have already lost a good portion of your fanbase and the locker-room (before even getting drafted). What player is going to want to go to war with you?
From what I’m reading from the Tweets, he was quoting other people using the n word as more of referring to a friendly manner. WHICH is hard to explain as it’s a very sensitive word used in different contexts. (Especially with how the word is spelled)

It was stupid on his part, but I know what I’m reading there. Just a kid who doesn’t realize the connotations of a white individual saying that word.

Granted I understand the media constantly wants to be “white knights” to make themselves look like good people, so Allen will forever be considered racist for a naive remark he made when he was 16.

If he slides, the conspiracy theorist in me says the team that picks him is the one that leaked it

It could be one of these agents for Josh Rosen or Darnold who did it to make sure their guy doesn’t slide.

Like devin mccourty?

2016-2-60 - Cyrus Jones
2015-2-64 - Jordan Richards
2013-3-83 - Logan Ryan
2013-3-91 - Duron Harmon
2012-2-48 - Tavon Wilson
2011-2-33 - Ras-I Dowling
2010-1-27 - Devin McCourty
2009-2-34 - Patrick Chung
2009-2-41 - Darius Butler
2008-2-62 - Terrence Wheatley
2007-1-24 - Brandon Meriweather

Real murderers row there. And McCourty had to change positions because of how bad he was playing.

I didn't look at him because I read his effort level is awful. I feel like that's an off-the-board flag for Belichick.

He gives pretty good effort. He dealt with a shoulder injury all year that required surgery in the offseason to repair a torn labrum, so there are some plays this year where he clearly pulls up a bit when he didn't in 2016. Maybe the reviewer just watched the wrong snaps? I don't think it's the full picture with Ejiofor, whose handwork and preparation is just miles ahead of most college players. He really displays a lot of savvy for the position. I'm a big fan if he's fully healthy.

I get a Matt Slater vibe from DaeSean Hamilton

  • Scouts say he's described as "special" and "unselfish" by everyone around him
  • High-achiever
  • Team captain who takes time to teach younger players
In this job you deal with some really good guys and some not so good guys. He's one of the best”
