24: CB Aaron Ross
28: WR Robert Meachem
60: OLB Quentin Moses ( )
91: ILB H.B. Blades ( )
123: SS John Wendling
165: QB Tyler Palko
187: DT Keith Jackson
196: CB John Talley
219: C Dan Mozes

OK. Here is my draft based on what I would like to see based on the Pats getting comp picks in the 4th, 6th (x2) and 7th.

24: Anthony Spencer - OLB/DE
28: Chris Houston - CB
60: Brian Leonard - RB/FB
91: Stewart Bradley - OLB
123: John Wendling - FS
Comp: David Ball - WR
165: Allen Barbre - OT
187: John Talley - CB
Comp: Anthony Waters - ILB
Comp: Craig Dahl - SS
219: Dante Rosario - TE
Comp: Chris Davis - WR

I'm going to be honset. Like BOR and others, I am finding this draft to be weak with Top-End Talent. Much weaker than the 2005 draft was supposed to have been. As such, I think that the Pats will trade down from 28 to the middle of the second and pick up a 1st or 2nd next year.

Also, because I don't see the talent here in the draft at CB, FS, or SS, I think that the Pats WILL franchise Samuel and might even over-pay him a bit. I could see the Pats offering a 4yr/28 million with a 8 mill signing bonus or a 6yr/$44 million deal with an 11 mill signing bonus.

I think that this is a real "meat & potatoes" draft and that the bulk of the "value" will come from the 2-5 rounds.

yeah, but with comp pix, means pick 165 on are later

i agree about the fact that there might not be as much high end talent
and i feel that the second rd seems more solid than a lot of times
jus excentuates the fact that its bb's favorite round

I understand that from 165 and on would be later and, if you look, I tried to pick players that would be later.

Well I'll gladly take part as the Cowboys if I may.

Maybe we can aim for Sunday, April 1?

That would work for me and any help with recuits i'd love to have it. and i don't see any issues with you having the cowboys.

I love everyones drafts so far

Leonard will break the infamous Curse of Craig James- last white man over 1000 yards. Book it. BTW, it looks like the mock consensus is BEason to the Colts at #32. That would suck for you.

whys it suck for me? I'll root for Beason wherever he goes..unless he faces us. We should take Beason..bulk him up and create a monster at Inside.

but hey..prolly wont happen. i hope he doesnt go to colts..i rather see him to go Bears

Where has he said that? I think it's been fairly well established that BB's favorite place to pick is mid-to-late first round (see: Mankins, Logan; Maroney, Laurence), not the second (see: Hill, Marquise; Johnson, Bethel).

PatsNUT:

Before I go back and read this whole thread, the top list you use is much different than mine and I dont want to slant my judgement to play your game. However, using draft countdown's top 100, which I have been:

#24: Quentin Moses, DE
#28: Brandon Meriweather, FS
#60: Josh Wilson, CB
#91: John Wendling, SS

So now I will go back and look at how these picks shake out against your top 100 list, well, tomorrow I will.

Not to mention (Jackson, Chad).

DaBruinz, by and large I agree with you -- it's not a strong draft for the Pats, especially at CB and OLB. I think I said something similar about signing Samuel earlier in this thread. But I'm surprised to hear you feel the same about safety. S looks to me like one of the strongest positions in this draft. You don't like what you see there?

Patriots picks are #'s 24, 28, 60, 91, 123, 165, 187, 196, 219.

#165 Zak DeOssie, ILB from Rutgers

#24 Brandon Meriweather S Miami
Type of game changing player in the secondary that we have been missing. Character issues are over blown.
#28 Sidney Rice WR South Carolina
Will need a few years to develop into a complete WR, but one of our main weaknesses is our redzone offense, and he can come in and run fade routes and catch jump balls right away.
#60 Quentin Moses OLB Georgia
A LB wouldn't start right away for us anyway, so might as well get a project with endless talent.
#91 Stewart Bradley ILB Nebraska
Good fit with good size to stick as an ILB for us.
#123 Ryan Harris OT Notre Dame
Struggled at Senior Bowl week, but still good value here.
#165 Tim Duckworth OG Auburn
Another good value at OL. Always have been a big fan of getting players to protect Brady.
#187 Reggie Lewis CB Florida
Decent CB project, started for the National Champs.
#196 John Talley CB Duke
Good ball skills, expect him to battle Lewis for one roster spot.
#219 Steve Breaston WR Michigan
Underrated WR with amazing KR skills. If Troy Brown returns could go many different positions here. NT, RB, QB

Stomping on a dude's head is overblown?

Not overblown at all, but it's balanced out by the headiness he showed the time he thought ahead and kept a gun in his pants to pull out and open fire just in case.

Ooh. Good awareness. You can't teach that.
