Draft Game... Comment Thread

A slight side note - I'm playing the Pats GM in another mock draft, and I'm trying to shop #7. Been offered a deal from the Saints GM, their 1st and 3rd - is it worth it?

I haven't seen any charts noting how much each pick is worth in terms of points.

Here you go:

The #7 pick is worth 1,500 points, while the #10 pick is worth 1,300. The third round pick makes it about even, so I suppose it's just a matter of whether you like anyone at 7 or think you can get your guys at 10.

I will vote Pat Sims DT Auburn for Denver.

I think it would be a great trade. Balt is going to take a QB or OL and Cinn is going to take a DL, none of which the Pats care about so you can trade down to 10 and take the same player you were going to get at 7

For F' sake, its a GAME. Jesus. One of the biggest Gaffs was expecting people to be ready for their picks over a LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND. We should have put a hold on the picking then.

Also, You are talking out your arse about how many we've actually voted on. A GOOD MAJORITY actually submitted their picks.

So, instead of b!tching and being part of the problem. How about being part of the solution and not complaining about something that is being done for LEISURE. This isn't like a fantasy draft where we'll be running these teams through Madden or something. Its for enjoyment just to see how things would go.

Yup. Sorry about that. Typed up, it comes off a lot harsher that I meant it. I didn't mean for it to be vitriol, more of a pep-talk.

All apologies to anyone offended, truly.

Anyway, the Pats-Saint trade would be a win-win trade for both teams and one I hope to see in real life. Fan bases for both teams seem to support the idea.

NO hopes to get either of the top DTs, which one should be at 7 but not 10, NE wants to get BPA at #10 $ and get another top-40 pick.

I'm going to PM my picks for the St. Louis Rams to Mavfan2390 for the third round just in case I'm not back in time.

Is the Panthers time almost up? If so, who would the pick be for them?

He should have picked around midnight last night (which I fully understand isn't reasonable), but we've been picking around noon in these cases in the past few days. Panthers picked OT in 1st round. Next biggest needs are WR, TE, RB & DE in my opinion. Top 3 options according to scouts inc. would be- 1. F. Davis TE, 2. C.Campbell DE, & 3. E. Doucet WR. I have no strong feeling and will go with consensus though I think I lean towards Davis.

I agree with TE here. I really don't have a favorite, but as long as they have receiving skills it would help the Panthers out a lot.

Not sure that their needs include WR since they have Smith, Muhammad, DJ Hackett, and drafted Dwayne Jarrett last year.

They added Tyler Drayton to go along with Peppers, McGovern and Charles Johnson at DE.

I'd say DT is a bigger need than DE. And none of the TEs are worth a 2nd round pick.

They need a Center and potentially a free safety, though they did bring in Terrence Holt for that.

I'd say Mike Pollack from Arizona State or Tracy Porter for the FS position.

I would say Pat Sims or DaJuan Morgan for Carolina.

Too early to take Morgan. His stock has been slipping.

I could see Sims, but still think that Pollack should be the choice since they don't really have a starting center right now.

Let's just make a pick. It's been frigin 10 hours.

Mike Dragosavich is still available. Or should we save him for the Pats next pick?

DB-
I was on my lunch hour & stole those picks (and ratings) from McShay. You're right, I don't know what he was thinking about w/ WR. Go Tracy Porter. I'm fine with that. I think its a bit early for Pollack & Sims. I have to get back to work. Hopefully you guys can reach some sort of consensus by 6:00. Can't wait to do these for the 4th rounders...

The last thing we should be doing is considering the interest of other teams especially not of our home town boys.

Since we don't seem to have a favorite in the bunch I can post a poll of the names mentioned & come to a consensus that way.

They drafted Ryan Kalil last year though?

Bakes - Thanks for the correction on that. Forgot about him

Go with Sims.
