Draft Game... Comment Thread

Done. I took Cliff Avril; Jason Taylor is really starting to show his age and they need another pass rushing threat. I hope he'll be a good fit as a 3-4 OLB.

So the Tuna gets his Elephant. Good idea, though your about a year early. McGinest, Abraham & Ware were all picked in Parcells 2nd draft when he took over a new team.

I had to do it. Getting the Jets a tall WR as a redzone threat to victimize midget DB's will cause huge matchup problem.

The runnerups:
1. Devin Thomas WR - Like the speed and return game, but wary that he's only had one good year.
2. Calais Campbell DE - Great size and fit for the 3-4, disappointing combine.
3. Red Bryant NT - Huge space eater from a good program, but the Jets already traded for Jenkins.
4. Jerod Mayo ILB - Nice big ILB to pair with Harris. A bit early to take an ILB though.
5. Brandon Flowers CB - Would have been nice on the other side of Revis, but #2 corner not a pressing need, and a little too short to stop Moss.

This was a hard pick for me, and not overly sure I got it right.

Brandon sends up some red flag for me and the falcons. his charater concerns revolve around a photo posted on his facebook site of Cash and a small clear envolope that contains somthing white. He claims it is his friends photo. nevertheless, If his head is more into the thug, or glame maybe he isn't the right choice for Atlanta.

I just felt He was probably the better CB left on the board. Justin King and Patrick lee were also considered. But Brandon has a lot of first round grades out there depending on who you ask.

Not knowing the whole draft so well there could be other impact players out there that I missed.

Bump.

Maybe keeping this near the top will help remind people to keep an eye on things.

I havenb't left this thread for longer than half an hour, but it seems like we're waiting forever sometimes.....

Sent my list to "mavfan2390"! I'm going to wait until 4 PM, when we are 9PM o'clock. I hope that my turn come before that time!

Nice Manningham pick. Great value there.

We gotta speed this draft process up a bit. Way too much time between picks.

Are we using the new order of the draft with the swap between Chicago and SF? Or we are staying with this order?

I would guess the new order. Let's keep it as accurate IMO.

I agree. We've half-***ed voted on a good percentage of the picks already. Time has elapsed on many, while let slip on others.

If you sign up, pay the f attention. Otherwise, don't sign up.

I can see the confusion at the start, because it WAS a little bang-bang, but it is well in motion now.

This is not a slight towards whomever is up presently, but for f's sake, guys.

For F' sake, its a GAME. Jesus. One of the biggest Gaffs was expecting people to be ready for their picks over a LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND. We should have put a hold on the picking then.

Also, You are talking out your arse about how many we've actually voted on. A GOOD MAJORITY actually submitted their picks.

So, instead of b!tching and being part of the problem. How about being part of the solution and not complaining about something that is being done for LEISURE. This isn't like a fantasy draft where we'll be running these teams through Madden or something. Its for enjoyment just to see how things would go.

Thanks I appreciate the comment. Was hoping to land Brohm/Flacco there but with both of them gone I went for best available that filled a need.

I agree. There are the small matters of:

a) a life outside of patsfans
b) that thing called work

Between work (which pays for MY internet) and sleep (which stops me from falling asleep during my internet use) I have a maximum of 4 hours in which I can be online. I assume that's true for the majority of people on here. If anyone thinks I am going to check this board at work, they have another think coming.

I agree with DaBruinz and gomezcat...

Also I picked up Devin Thomas for the Bills, a WR who they met with (per NFL Draft Scout) the other day. Got a top WR in the 2nd round after pairing Rivers with Poz from the first round. I think it's going well.

Were you hoping for one of the big bodied receivers to be available? That's who I see the Bills drafting in the first round to be honest.

Yes. I was going to take Hardy, but that's ok. This guys' good and I've seen a few places where he has a first round grade so I'm excited to get him in the 2nd round along with my OLB. He's not that tall but he's built. Hardy is 215 and 6-6 and Thomas is 215 and 6-2. He had a great combine and the Bills have shown interest. I realize only 1 big year in the Big 10 but he didn't have a big-time QB or other receivers (only one other receiver had even 300 yards).

Cool, IMO Thomas is a first round talent anyway, and I think I had him going as high as 19 to the Eagles.

What else do you think the Bills need?

corner or pass-rusher...and maybe a TE

A slight side note - I'm playing the Pats GM in another mock draft, and I'm trying to shop #7. Been offered a deal from the Saints GM, their 1st and 3rd - is it worth it?

I haven't seen any charts noting how much each pick is worth in terms of points.
