Does 2014 and 2016 take away the sting of 2007 and 2011 ?

For me, it does. Yeah I wanted that 2007 Championship bad, and 2011, I was just hoping to win it and get vindication for 2007, but I didnt think the 2011 team was anywhere as good as 2007 (or 2003 & 2004). But the way our Pats won in 2014 and 2016, was so amazing, and cemented Brady's and Belichick's (and the franchise's) place in history. Hated losing those SBs, but these last 2 wins have taken away the sting of pain for me.

As a fan base we have been blessed. I don't often think of 2011, but I don't think I'll ever get over 2007. Still, no complaints here. The last 15 years have been a dream come true.

Yea but I'm still hoping for a perfect season, I hope to god we pull one off before its too late, I hope somewhere in Bradys mind that its one of his main goals before its too late along with BB, seems like we've conquered and got vengeance for every demon except the 2007 Perfect Season run, so how fitting is it that we get our vengeance 10yrs later in 2017, how about this for a catch frase next season, 2007 Revenge Tour: '17 Edition

It allows me to not dwell on the bad games. They are still very sore scars if I do happen to think about them.

Hell yes, it does, at least for this guy.

I wish we would have won 2007 for the historical implications. But it doesn't hurt to think about now. It annoys me, but it's not painful like it was before.

I would still love to play the Giants for ring #6. But Brady doesn't need anything else. Though he wants more. Difference between want and need I suppose.

Yes
For me 2006 AFCCG when the Colts & Manning came back after halftime was the worst, leading to The Entitled's gimmie ring.
2014 & 2016 have soothed my soul.

Yes, as good as this dynasty is, I think it would be unrealistic to expect them to go 7/7 in Super Bowls. I think 5/7 is just about right.

2007 scarred me forever.. I literally didn't put the radio or TV on for months. I know its stupid but I was fanatically depressed.

I just remember that whole season since like week 5 people started talking about them going undefeated and they were so close.

But these 2 Super Bowls are great and especially the last one.. its just shut the door on the GOATS TB/BB since at least the Super Bowl era.

if a team you love wins 5 superbowls. nothing should sting. 07 and 11 make 14 and 16 that much sweeter.

A little off topic here but something bout 5 championships in 15 years or so rings of dynasties..Think of the 4 major sports and there have been plenty of 4x champs but 5 seems rarified air....

Definitely makes me feel better about 2007, though THAT sting will never entirely go away. As far as 2011 goes, I've never felt bad about that one. It hurt because, in the end, the Pats needed just one catch by Welker, or one stop by the D to win that game. But the fact was that was a team with a good offense, and a really bad D. The Giants were the better team going into that game.

The 2011 loss was about what I would have thought about the 2001 game if we had lost. Proud that that we got there with that team, thrilled that we were competitive in a close game. Disappointed, but Proud, and looking forward to getting back soon.. That's how I felt about 2011. After 2007, I was crushed and inconsolable. Which is about how I felt after the 2010 loss to the Jets.
