Dez Bryant signs w/ Saints [update: torn achilles in practice]

i dunno

saints are playing well this year and is WR really a need for them? seems like the risk is higher than the reward considering they're going great and Dez reputation...

i want to see Saints in SB

Eh, not really. He’d be a bad fit here. He’s a much better fit in Payton’s offense.

I agree he is a better fit for NO than here, but I don't think he would be bad here. Even if he is only out there for 10 designed plays a game that is 10 plays you have a guy as talented as Dez Bryant out there over Dorsett. Not to say Dorsett is horrible but the difference in ability is clear. Even just Dez being out there as a threat would open things up for other people.

Personally I don't believe in WRs not being able to pick up our system. There has never been a WR who played badly here and then played well else where. The only WRs that 'failed to pick up the system' came here and suck. They were old and retired pretty much right after.

I think more is made of that than should be. I know some WRs have taken to it faster than others but general any WR worth a damn who isn't washed up figured it out.

I know that isn't exactly the point you are arguing as 'fit' may mean more personality than playbook. Just something i wanted to throw out into the public discussion and I kind of used your post to piggy back on.

Where is the SB this year? If it's in a dome I'd be worried that Brees would torch our defense apart if both teams get there, but that's independent of Bryant.

Atlanta, a dome stadium.

IMO Brees would torch our defense wherever the super bowl is being played.

True that but on the flip side Brady and company are very capable of doing just as much damage vs the Saints D! That would be a epic game for the ages! Not to mention a Pats vs Saints SB would be Falcons fans worst nightmare!

Not sure if you're talking about the Rams or Ravens because the Rams are definitely not the best defense in the NFL. The Ravens game proved that Brees doesn't suck outdoors anymore. He's gonna ball no matter where the game is played.

I'm guessing he'd do pretty well inside or outside against our defense, maybe short of it being really bad winter weather.

Anyways, it's in Atlanta. I could look it up, but I bet he's won games there before.

This bodes well for Michael Thomas in fantasy leagues. Now in the red zone...everybody will be worried about Bryant and Kamara...and Thomas can pick up some easy TD's!
I thought you were going to say “pick up the phone”...

He’s most likely insurance against rec 4 injuries

Everyone will be worried about Bryant over Thomas? That's a nice fantasy...

They won't be triple teaming Thomas now. All season, Thomas has only been able to score from 15+ yards out.

Has he really been triple teamed? I'm curious to know.

Here’s my vision.

The exact same kind of catch, five and fumble will lose them out of the nfccg

I don't see how anyone can call this a bad move by the Saints.

If the Patriots signed Dez I think many fans here would be excited about the potential upside and rightly so.
uh no, like Gordon much better

You can’t get 10 plays of good football out of a guy pouting because he only gets 10 plays despite believing he is the greatest player on the field.
