Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

It is sad how people who simply want evidence before ruining a man's life are treated.... we have officially moved into a country where it is OK to complete destroy a man based on accusation alone..... Watson wasn't the first nor will he be the last.

If it was just a couple of accusations, I would agree with you. But there are now 19 lawsuits and at least several other accusations.

These are not random women. These are not women who pursued him looking for financial gain. These are all professional massage therapists that he pursued, contacted, and made appointments with.

Is there any reasonable explanation for why he would go through at least two dozen females massage therapists in a years’s time other than sex?

Sports Illustrated contacted a female therapist in that area, who does not have a lawsuit against him, to get info on the industry only to then learn she was also one of his victims. They corroborated her story with a family member and friend of hers who she told long before the first accusation was made.

I don’t understand how people are still defending him at this point and demanding more proof. There’s highly unlikely to be any video evidence as it would be illegal to video the massages.

I don't care how many lawsuits have been filed because the filing of a lawsuit (i.e. a Court Petition) is not evidence.

We don't have any evidence at all, let alone "proof" of guilt. I am not defending Watson as much as I am trying to defend a little concept we used to have in this country called "due process".

Unfortunately, for far too many people in this country, people accused of crimes are guilty until proven innocent - and even then they're still guilty. Twitter has become judge and jury, and we all know the brainpower of the average twitter user.

I wouldn't bet 2 red cents on Watson being innocent right now.... I just think he should be afforded due process before they completely ruin his life. Why this makes people so upset as yet remains a mystery.....

yeah, he’s a real idiot for taking his time walking down a slippery ramp in dress shoes...
There's only one real idiot here. It's not 45, he's just an unsteady charlatan and it's not me because I can discern fact from fiction, the just leaves, well - you might be able to figure it out.

I guess I did.....but as of right now, Trump 26, Watson 20......but Watson is still young, so there's that
If it's really 46, then all 46 knew EXACTLY why there were there...Anyone claiming they didn't is a Liar.

Yeah, keep voting for higher taxes. That'll solve everything. And print money to pay for the 2T stimulus package and allow for inflation? Sure, why not. May as well let everyone into the country through our open borders for the next hundred years too. And keep thinking with your heart, not your brain.

I’m kind of torn on this one. The staunch racist in me wants Watson to be guilty but the chauvinistic, sexist pig in me doesn’t want to believe the women. Are any of the women black? That might help simplify things here.

are morons a race? If so, I'm definitely a racist...

Defending due process and accusing over 20 woman of lying is 2 different things.

No one is saying lock they guy up and put him in jail. That's due process for law.

It's abundantly obvious that the guy at very least has a fetish for happy endings and tried to find woman through Instagram that would oblige him.

It's also very plausible that some of the woman who obliged didn't want to, but felt they had to because of his status of a star football player.

I'm not saying that's true because It's up to the courts to decide that. See that's how you play it due process, not by attacking the accuser before their time in court has come, but by simply saying wait for the process to play out before condemning anyone.

I'm not saying you have attacked the supposed victims, but it seems a lot of people want to defend Watson by accusing the accuser/victim of malice.

It's possible Watson did commit some form of sexual assault, forcing one of the woman to touch his erect penis, and that it's impossible to prove. Does that mean it didn't happen? I'm not saying it did, but when 20 woman say that's what happens I tend believe it, but it doesn't mean he will be found guilty.

Disagree. Should they have known if he contacted them on Instagram and asked for groinal massages, absolutely.

However, there are people naive/dumb enough to find it innocent and think, wow I get to give a massage to a famous athlete and get a free trip out of it.

You would be lying if you didn't know someone dumb enough to think that.

Sorry not sorry, but Watson is the one accused of a crime, so he is the one who gets the benefit of the doubt in a court of law (at least that's the way it works in the country I live in ). The burden of proof rests with the prosecutor. Given that this is a civil court of law, the burden of evidence rests with the plaintiffs.

No, you just have tons of people that want to completely ruin the man's career without any evidence whatsoever ever having been presented.

I agree. Having said that, IMHO, there should be no professional ramifications to an athlete based merely on the filing of a lawsuit (or 2 lawsuits or 20 lawsuits or however many we get here). It is frightening how so few people agree with me on that.

Suppose this all came out in, say, October. Do you think Watson would have played last Sunday? Would he be playing this Sunday?

I don't see how this will ruin his career unless he actually raped someone.

It will definitely take a hit on his imagine, but even Kobe Bryant and Ben Rothlisburger overcame rape allegations early in their careers. Heck Ray Lewis killed a guy and is enshrined in Canton and on TV.

Tyreek Hill choked his pregnant girlfriend and broke his son's arm and still plays.

Great players will be on the field. Watson will probably be suspended for a season and he will lose endorsement money for sure.

But I can't feel bad for him, even if he is innocent. Why. He should have been smart and avoided anything that could lead to accusations. Heck he didn't just not avoid he directly set himself up.

When someone makes a dumb decision they risk consequences, and hitting up a bunch of woman on Instagram to get handjobs was screaming for it to blow up in his face.

More runaround from Buzbee. Despite telling us he went to the HPD (when he didn’t) and that he was going to go to the HPD (which he didn’t) he is now officially saying he won’t be going to the HPD because reasons...

I’ve thought a great deal with my heart and I’ve amassed more wealth than you ever will. The taxes are no sweat to me. As for immigration, it needs to be fixed, but the Trump method was never going to work.
