DeSean Jackson?

I would like to see him here, but there is no way we'll pay that much for him.

that reports about releasing him is BS. IF they release a WR like that..then there HAS to be something wrong with him....
It can easily be a salary cap move. I can think of a pretty good CB that was released outright just last week, so I don't see why the same thin couldn't happen to a WR.

What do you think Jackson would command as a free agent? Decker got about 7 million a year.

More then Decker that's for sure. Jackson has the home run ability on a TON of plays. But if he goes to the jets...his home runs go bye bye

Re: NESN: DeSean could be released

Didn't see the DeSean Jackson thread?

Re: NESN: DeSean could be released

Man, is he that much of a distraction ? That they would be willing to cut an 80+ 1300 yard+ receiver, one of the best threats in football as a receiver and returnman. Doesn't make sense unless he's a real cancer.

Chip Kelly thinks Jeremy Maclin could have just as good numbers in his offense.

Re: NESN: DeSean could be released

Jackson is a selfish jackass that is being overpayed. Jets or the Panthers would be my guess.

If he can stay healthy enough to play a game lol

Honestly close to what he's already making but how much is guaranteed and incentive based would be key. He'll definitely make more than Decker I mean Mike Wallace is making 12 this year
2014: $10.5 million
2015-2016: $9.75 million
2017: Free Agent
The writing is on the wall for the Jets to trade for him or sign him based on their cap space and the Michael Vick connection. I don't see how Carolina or San Francisco could afford him.

Did you just throw that out there without doing any research?

The only real difference between the two is Jackson hasn't had an injury that made him miss a season.

Many of my friends are Eagle fans and we usually travel to Philly to catch an Eagle game once a year. I listen to WIP (It's pretty good) Even today the bulk of the calls were around Jackson. Everyone knows that the Eagle front office HAVE NOT come out publicly to squelch these rumors. People in Philadelphia know he's a home run hitter...but a BIG time diva.

Amounts vary, naturally, but anyone calling someone an idiot for keeping cash on hand instead of elsewhere is someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Perhaps a look at what happened in Greece, or taking a look at what's going on with banks

Now bank decides IF you can have your money

etc..., including those in the U.S., would help such people to understand, but perhaps not.

Well, sure - but if you don't keep it in a bank then you're going to lose out on the 1.02% interest you could be earning!

(I have no idea how this thread got off on this tangent, but it's pretty funny)

Would think the raiders would put in a bid for him. Don't they have serious cap space?

that's why they call me ol' Unca Joe "backyard buried coffee cans" Kerr...I save at that bank of dirt next to the shed...

I'd be more than happy if any CDs or even my money market account paid anything close to that.

I saw something near 1 percent for awhile on a money market acct, but that was just a 3 month promotional event.

Most "regular" accounts are paying about 1/10th of your 1.02%--and that's if you're lucky.

This is an absolute no brainer for me. If Jackson is released, sign him and release Amendola. Amendola to me is redundant to Edelman while Jackson brings an element to our offense that is not there. If he isn't released, then a trade with him would require a restructure which I don't believe that Jackson is ready to do. This is a pay me player which is hard to make room for with our current cap situation.
