But it's the Jete...so it's fun to throw shade at him and the team. Why is it people seem to be able to rate things as great or awful. Carr isn't Awful i think he is average that's it. If he goes to the jets it will be an upgrade on wilson who is truly swful.
On that i agree, he also looks like he is wearing eyeliner all the time.I agree Carr is average. But it's the Jete...so it's fun to throw shade at him and the team.
We got cheated because of that... For that I truly despise Carr. He made us fall into the trap...Let’s not forget Derek Carr made Nelson Agholar look like Stephon Diggs
My point is people are ragging on Carr and he made Nelson rich.We got cheated because of that... For that I truly despise Carr. He made us fall into the trap...
Right, but the goal is to win the Super Bowl, and (a) Carr doesn't have the talent to be a true franchise quarterback and (b) Carr's contract will make it hard for the Jete to add talent in other positions. Basically he's Andy Dalton version 2.0, good enough to maybe win some playoff games, but not good enough to win a Super Bowl. Why is it people seem to be able to rate things as great or awful. nelson agonyolor hitting free agency after being able to only scare up a 1 year prove it deal when his time in philly was up made nelson look like a pale version of stephon diggsLet’s not forget Derek Carr made Nelson Agholar look like Stephon Diggs
I am little surprised that D Carr failed with Davante Adams but Waller and Renfrow was mostly injured. McDaniels intended Offense wasn't always together did he give up on Carr too early?? Time will tell but if Carr plays with a chip on his shoulders it wont be good for us I mean Carr is still better than Mac and we can only hope Mac's ceiling is Carr's. That said the Jets already have the pieces at the skilled position except @QB. Imagine a healthy Hall - Wilson and Davis: Carr could play pitch and catch. I hope Patriots fans realized that WR Garrett Wilson got over 1000yds with nobody @ QB That Jet HC is not bad either. My point is people are ragging on Carr and he made Nelson rich.
Mac makes Nelson look like Brandon Tate, Bethel Johnson, Nelson Agholar.
We are lying to ourselves if we think the Jets going from Wilson and white to Carr doesn’t instantly lift that team.
I get and agree with all of the above my comment was more just an observation that a significant number of people confuse average with terrible. It seems with those people you can only be great or awful.Right, but the goal is to win the Super Bowl, and (a) Carr doesn't have the talent to be a true franchise quarterback and (b) Carr's contract will make it hard for the Jete to add talent in other positions. Think of it another way: Had the Jete hit on Wilson, they'd now have a rookie QB with a few more years of control at a low salary which would let them add more talent across the roster. Now they are gonna still pay Wilson what they were going to pay him before AND (presumably) have to pay Carr too, just to get a middle-of-the-pack quarterback. Had Wilson been the next Josh Allen / Joe Burrow / etc then the Jete would be in a far far better position, on the trajectory that leads to a deep playoff run.
Of course that was their plan, but they are the Jete and they screwed it up. Having to move to Plan B and sign someone like Carr or Rodgers really closes their playoff window a lot.
Carr is better than Wilson and will help the Jete. Mac did not force Nelson to fumble repeatedly and drop catchable balls, he did that all on his own.My point is people are ragging on Carr and he made Nelson rich.

Sure, but is he worth blowing a hole in your cap just to get "better"?Carr is better than Wilson and will help the Jete.
The short answer to your question is no, he is not worth blowing a hole in your cap. Carr being better than Wilson is relative. Wilson has been Ryan Leaf bad, Carr is a mid pack QB who has proven that he can't lead a team that will compete for the championship. If I were the GM of the Jets, I would consider him as a temporary stop gap to stabilize things while finding a true franchise QB if the price was right.Well, since the Jete had their sit-down on Monday and we haven't heard anything by today (Sat), we can say whatever they were offering wasn't the deal of a lifetime, it was the "I'll think about it" kind of offer. Maybe Carr doesn't have the market he thinks he has, or maybe he thinks he can get a better offer by waiting?

I see where you're going, but the thing is the Jets really need the money to improve starting talent on OL (which isn't cheap these days) and overall backup talent (they crashed and burned with just a few injuries this season). If I were the GM of the Jets, I would consider him as a temporary stop gap to stabilize the things while finding a true franchise QB if the price was right.
Have you really watched Carr play? He is regularly very mediocre and most of the time that he has a good game he choked at the end. Raider fans have considered him to be THE problem for yearsCarr is better than Wilson and will help the Jete. Mac did not force Nelson to fumble repeatedly and drop catchable balls, he did that all on his own.
Isn’t he meeting with the Saints next, who were also willing to trade for him on his old contract? To be honest, he’s probably more likely to have success there than the Jets.Well, since the Jete had their sit-down on Monday and we haven't heard anything by today (Sat), we can say whatever they were offering wasn't the deal of a lifetime, it was the "I'll think about it" kind of offer.
