I would add 3. The NFL doesn't want to prove anything -except that it was the NFL that decided to ambush the Patriots at halftime in the first place. If they didn't want to make a fuss over this, all they had to do was treat this as any normal incident of individualizing footballs and simply warn the Patriots to comply with the 12.5 to 13.5 guidelines -NOT ambush them with a surprise inspection.

I think it's way too late for that, DZ--as you've stated.

If they didn't want to ambush the team, they could've chosen to go about Cameragate and this latest story in a much different way. Unfortunately, that isn't the case.

Looking back, only thing i wish he hadnt said was the 12.5 psi remark. indicates he knows the psi levels and contradicts that there is not much difference. But I guess he said the truth of what he knows.

BB said they fill them to 12.5 PSI in his PC, so im sure Brady was informed of it as well.

It was Stacey James' job to prep him. There was no reason for him to come out there looking like a deer in the headlights. I don't blame Tom for that. He was not well prepared at all.

I tend to agree with @shmessy.

I believe that Belichick did much better than Brady, and that Brady was just too damn open and.....indecisive in many of his points.

He should've just kept it to the minimum that BB did, without many questions--if any.

Other than that, I wouldn't say that he did "badly," but I didn't walk away thinking that he was that great either. Just my opinion as others will see it differently.

I agree. Thats why I think the NFL not talking to Brady is NOT indicative of them trying to sweep this investigation under the rug.. because it was all in their power in the first place to not make a big deal out of this.

To me, it means that nothing in the NFL's investigation has given them cause to talk to Brady.

That's a very good sign in my opinion.

League will exonerate Patriots, either blame it on weather or claim they don't know why but found no inappropriate action by Pats, and will make a change to ball pressure rules in offseason.

He didnt expect this backlash I think.Especially, are you a cheater question when the league officially has not said anything. I put this all on the league. The leaked the news. Made the media bay for blood and are themselves quiet.

I wont be so sure. They will punish them somehow. They are good at responding to witchhunts.

I think this "review" language is interesting. You review a process, particularly a failed process. To my mind you'd never use the word review when looking into deliberate wrongdoing.

I think it depends on how optimistic one may be, and when it comes to NFL investigations involving the NEP, I am not nearly as optimistic as you may be.

If they wished to sweep it under the rug, it's now been 4 1/2 days of straight bashing the Patriots, and there's really been ZERO talk about the league's biggest game next week, which is actually an awfully good matchup. They certainly could've wrapped it up on Wednesday, or at the very least, today.

There's no way that the league wishes for this to take the attn off of the Super Bowl, which makes me wonder if the investigation is just going to take longer than expected? I'm hoping for a resolution by Monday or Tuesday.
