So whats the plan if Andrews is out for a while?

Karras and Froholdt...

NFL Draft & Combine Profile - Hjalte Froholdt | NFL.com

Overview
Froholdt has primarily lined up at guard, but a move to center might give him his best shot as a pro. He has good power to absorb and neutralize at the point of attack, but there just aren't enough wins as an in-line blocker due to his lack of push. Froholdt also struggles to protect his edges through foot quickness or functional power and he should be able to get the help he needs at center. His ability to play both guard and center strengthens his case to become a solid backup who can step in and start in a pinch.

I’m not into reading tea leaves or finding conspiracy theories. I don’t understand how “Twitter” would have medical diagnoses.

Where's the conspiracy theory? Someone on Twitter stated that Andrews has blood clots, which may or may not be true, but there's no grand conspiracy going on. We're analyzing the information present and inferring what we can -- we're not denying a legitimate, verifiable take in order to push an outlandish alternative explanation.

Is it that far-fetched that information regarding Andrews could get passed through various channels, and that someone who happens to have a Twitter account hears that information and shares it? That's not hard to believe, in fact it happens all the time, every day; Twitter has largely become an outlet for disseminating news/information. Is all of it accurate, all the time? No. But the notion that news is communicated via Twitter is not ridiculous.

From what BB said in his presser to that Dutch reporter and what Scar said later, looks like Froholdt has needs alot of polishing up:

Lazar's Q&A With Patriots Offensive Line Coach Dante Scarnecchia | CLNS Media

Q: What are your impressions of rookie Hjalte Froholdt (asked by Nesn’s Doug Kyed)?

DS: “He played against top competition in college [at Arkansas]. His total background in football is not great. He played high school in America and played in college in America. He’s a bright kid, and he understands a lot of things. What we are trying to do with him is to get him to be more disciplined in the things he does and less wild in the things he does, and he has four holding penalties in three games, and that’s unacceptable. There are habits that we have to fix and techniques we have to get better with him. He’s working hard and trying his best to do it right. We are pleased with his development, but we have a ways to go.”

Ted Karras is likely the starter.. Froholt and Ferentz will be the backups unless they bring someone in or convince Schwenke to come back..

Hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs. Yeah, we should definitely be worried.

Blood clots in the lungs. Sounds like his season is in jeoprady.

And there ya go ... bummer. Next man up.

We're not losing a physical beast by any means, but we are losing a smart, hard-working leader who Brady and Belichick trust to make calls at the line and execute his assignment well.

Karras is physically stronger/more gifted than Andrews; we'll see if he can put it together above the shoulders.

I'm optimistic, and while I'm bummed for Andrews, I'm excited about the potential for having a bigger, more physical center in the game for Michel to run behind.

Best of luck to him. One of my favorite players on the team. Undrafted, a starter from day one, and team captain. Hope first and foremost he gets healthy then if all goes well he returns.

Wasn’t Shaq Mason projected by some to be a center in the draft process? Could he be a candidate to slide over?

When Reiss writes a tweet like he did, as careful as he is, that seemed to be the impetus for concern, hence the thread. It seemed ominous to see that from him, and unfortunately that was borne out.

Right now more concern for David Andrews and his family than I am worried about the OL.

.

Sorry to hear this..............

Offensive line depth is a problem.

Ohhh man. That sucks. I wish him the best. Football is secondary for him at this time.

One is one to many

He could be out for the season.

Man that sucks! Hope he makes a full recovery

Yikes - wishes for good health to Mr Andrews. Scary.

I guess from a football perspective you gotta look at the positives in the “next man up” possibility, and we can dismiss his size or physical attributes like many have for years, but this guy has been a rock solid player at an important position on 3 straight SB runs. This is a big deal.

Geez, get well soon big guy.
