I understand you have a dual problem of an agenda and limited intellect, so I will be kind and explain.

When pointing out the inconsistency of
1) there is no need for off field discipline and
2) blaming coaching for on field lack of discipline
That could either mean (1) is wrong, which of course it is
Or (2) is wrong which you assume I meant in order to support your agenda.
It’s all in your two posts I quoted. Can’t spin it.

what does that have to do with a generation issue?
Old people have to be less than 5 minutes late but young people can be 59 minutes?
Are you seriously arguing that someone paid millions of dollars to work half the year shouldn’t be expected to follow the rule all of his teammates follow and just show up on time?
I was talking about being a hardliner not about an age gap.

There are extenuating circumstances in almost any situation. Was he taking an Uber that showed up late even though he scheduled it to get back on time and was a few minutes late? Did he get wasted and pass out a woman's house and was several hours late? We don't know.

The usual suspects. What other positions do the most egregious prima donnas ever play?
And THAT is why Bill won’t draft them too high .. as about as unpredictable as a 15 year old girl. Trust me I had two daughters

So if working hard, being accountable, showing up on time, staying late, listening and learning, getting treatment, following direction , having strong values, putting team first, don’t cause waves in the media, don’t talk crap about teammates, ect ect … doesn’t work …. What does ?? What type of person/athlete is left to fill out the roster?
The kind who demand new contracts two years into the current one.

The kind who won’t play hurt because lesser performance costs them a fortune (and dabs never fake it into consideration).

The kind who lose their **** when they don’t get enough touches because it’s costing them millions of dollars.

No need to spin. Your have decide that you think the phrase
Either A or B can be true, not both, is a declaration of which one is true

What is preventing your from understanding, your agenda or your intellect?

So since you dint know you make up what it could be in order to criticize discipline?
Are we really at that stage?
If you are unemployed and living in your mothers basement and haven’t left in 20 years, what is the validity of your opinion on management and discipline? We don’t know. See how that works. You can sensationalize anything because we don’t know. Forming an opinion based upon it is silly.

I've worked in all kinds of situations fro. The military to offices to hospitals and metal workshops. I've seen a lot of different leadership styles. I've seen negative reinforcement work. I've seen the opposite work. It depends on the group that's being led. I've seen hardliners bosses cut some slack to a guy who was 5 minutes late. I've seen some softer touch leaders come down hard on a guy who was 5 minutes late.

What I'm saying is that it depends on the person or people being lead and the infraction. We don't know the exact situation so it's hard to say.

One doesn't need to have all the facts to form am opinion on something. People (rightly or wrongly) do it all the time.

Thornton posted an article ripping on Josh McD. I know it's not about BB specifically but here's a couple of quotes Jerry highlight that grabbed my attention:

"Can Josh design a good play? Sure. Can he make his players care about running that play? He cannot. …

If you don’t have the respect of your team, it doesn’t matter how clever you are on the ****ing whiteboard. Coaching is about connecting with other humans. It's about paying attention to what they are going through and responding to it. It's about listening to what they tell you. It's about putting them in positions to succeed, challenging them to be their best, and respecting the effort they give you. Honoring their sacrifice. Believing in them. Showing them that you love them, not just as players, but as people. …"

And

"Bill Belichick knock-offs, like putting slogans and mantras in big block letters around the building, then calling guys out in meetings, making them stand up to recite them, and cussing out those who couldn’t."

Here's a link to the whole piece if you're interested:

False advertising.

I thought you were posting some particularly juicy morsel posted by our own Ty Thornton.

Didn’t get it. I want the time I spent reading that hit piece back, please.

I said it was Jerry Thornton in the post and linked to Barstool.

I saw just Thornton. No Jerry. You buried the lede. Figured players repost articles all the time, wouldn‘t surprise me if he reads Barstool in his copious free time. He apparently is not reading his playbook.

Was JC playing like crap though? Missed tackle Aside?
I'd have to say yes.. he wasn't playing well. He did nothing of impact since he was traded here. JC is talented, and is still young and if he really wanted to could be a great CB. But he got paid, got a championship ring.. have to wonder what is the motivation to play..

So it would be wrong to draw a conclusion based upon an assumption.

Carroll produced playoff contenders in Seattle. Kraft himself confessed to mishandling Carroll.
It confirms what I've said before, Carroll was at the mercy of Grier making poor personnel decisions and drafts. Carroll also dealt with injuries to Drew Bledsoe, Robert Edwards, Terry Glenn, Willie McGinest and anyone else I'm missing. He got a raw deal for sure.

And can you believe this is his 14th season with the Seahawks?

Nope

Sure. I'm generalizing. The superstars coming out of college are already professionals now - are making bank and dealing with agents and marketing people and all the rest. "A football life" is passe.

Gen Z, for the most part, learning from the experience of the Millennials, who are the first generation who will not be as successful as their parents, have decided that work isn't life - it's a subset of life.

Also, asking for sacrifice above and beyond requires an attainable goal.
Ok...but it'll be flag football soon anyway so I won't have to worry. I'll just watch re-runs of games with Joker wherever he may be.
