You are presuming no increase for 2026, 2027 and around $34M AAV therafter?Pats offer: 4 years, $134M ($100M guaranteed)
Gonzo: 4 years, $140M ($110M guaranteed) ?
Kraft is cheap.
This story is just dragging out too long. Someone make a decision and do something!
What’s with the revisionist history with Gonzo all of the sudden?? Now, people are nitpicking; acting as if Gonzo gets beat routinely. He’s ELITE at the position. About as elite as you can get; especially in this era. No CB is completely shutting down every single pass, but you’d be hard pressed to find a better corner. He’s the perfect prototype at the position. He consistently wipes out any competition week in and week out. Yes, he’s given a play maybe what, two or three times in two seasons???? Lol He just masterfully shut down the best receiver in football on the biggest stage & even has a classic pose to prove it. Pay the man..Insufferable…
Revis didn’t get beat?He was beat on both of those plays. The slant was underthrown. He was also beat on that deep ball. lt was a great recovery and the jumping dive showcases his fantastic athleticism. But the very elite corners like Revis didn't get beat like that. They made the play without having to make an incredible jumping dive because they were right there.
He's a grea corner. But I see him as a risk if the Pats are paying him as a best-in-the-league generational corner.
If ifs were fifths, we’d all be drunk. Stop it…he made those plays. If not for him, the score would’ve been like 50-13. Also, yes all great corners get beat. All of them. Revis got beat by Stevie Johnson plenty of times. Stevie is no slouch by any stretch, but he ain’t Moss, Rice etc…He got beat by Ochocinco, Marquise Goodwin, AJ Green, Sammy Watkins, Steve Smith, Doug Baldwin, Ted Ginn Jr, Fitz, Colston, Marshall etc….Surtain, Stingley, Revis, Champ, Woodson, Peterson, Sherman, Gilmore all got beat at times, but it was very minimal. Hell, Stingley routinely gets beat by Boutte….Kayshon Boutte lol….Point is, you can count on one hand how many times Gonzo has gotten beat in 3 years. That’s remarkable in this era; in any era. Best in the league & has proven it. They’ll cave & pay him what he’s worth. He was beat on both of those plays. The slant was underthrown. He was also beat on that deep ball. lt was a great recovery and the jumping dive showcases his fantastic athleticism. But the very elite corners like Revis didn't get beat like that.
