Interesting how different the UK is handling the response to the coronavirus. Seems like a risk to me, but time will tell.

From the story, it seems Boris is trying to build some sorta zombie herd that he can control and unleash on his enemies.

I'm going to begin this post by saying that I have no dog in this fight as I am not American and don't live in the US. In observing the lack of a cohesive Federal reaction to the Covid 19 virus over the last month (until 3 days ago), it is astonishing to outside observers how any American citizen could be satisfied with the job your President and his administration have done in the preparation and management of this threat. Much of the world winced when the US Government rejected the WHO offer of Covid 19 test kits. Every other country gladly accepted the kits. Our collective jaws dropped to the floor when your President said that the virus would "magically disappear". Science and common sense were clearly telling all of us that this virus would not be impacted in any way, by magic.

From the outside looking in, the only words that come to mind when considering how the current administration has handled this situation are "gross negligence" and "recklessly irresponsible". What is equally baffling to "outsiders" like me are the number of Americans who are digging their heels in and saying that the President has done a good job with the Covid 19 threat.
We foreigners tend to place value and importance on facts and logic and I suppose the overriding question I have is why would Americans put their political party affiliations before the good of their country?
It is truly bizarre.

Because the President’s supporters worship him. It’s a cult of personality and he can literally do nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing.

This particular American would appreciate the opportunity to illustrate my incompetence and short sightedness before you assume it. It is truly bizarre to me that anyone observing the U.S. from the outside doesn't factor in the enormous diversity of the country and realize that the majority here is often silent, which should not be taken for indifference or acquiescence.
