No

Just trying to keep the thread a bit light. Throwing a few in here and there doesn't take effort, and having insomnia makes it less of a problem to spread them out over the hours.

Have a great week.

What is concerning is the level of belief regarding how serious this is by political party.

Wouldn't it make sense if everyone was concerned instead of some concerned. There seems to be some arrogance among younger folks who have been gathering together for St. Pat's day festivities they could could become "carriers" and infect elders or vulnerable populations..

As an elder spending all my time at home, working in the yard and working on some inside projects.. fortunately my wife shares the same values..

We will have the cleanest house and yard by the time this abates...down side is isolation from my friends, kids and grandkids...

Coronavirus bill is not going to get passed by the Senate, according to reports. Some Senators think it doesn't go far enough.

Again, nothing at all meant to be about bagging on the poster, or implying any intent or any ill will on his part, but just to demonstrate:

Here's another post that serves a great example for the importance of context, waiting until the facts are known (especially with today's heavily biased media striving to influence opinion), and striving for accuracy rather than gotcha moments, in a thread like this.

Trump's Google announcement raises questions

COVID-19: How we’re continuing to help
Do you acknowledge "today's heavily biased media striving to influence opinion" from the stridently pro-administration right? Just wondering.

Just heard the rumors of a nationwide lockdown is a hoax. Fake news.

A 14 day, or even 10 day, lockdown would do a ton to slow the advance but inevitably some schmucks will go out and spread the virus, unknowningly, and it'll still get out there. But if we can slow down the pace of the spread we can limit the impact of only having 925k hospital beds in a nation of 325 million.
With schools closed and the kids home some of these selfish, stupid-ass mothers still want to have playdates.

From what I was told there would be roadblocks with armored personal to escort the schmuck home. I envisioned flying after 911. Right after 911, I had to fly to Dallas and DFW was deserted except military with machine guns.

Seriously? Those were the words spoken at the beginning of this virus. How did that work out?

Yeah, I heard of some people doing coronavirus parties...

Some are impervious to COVID-19

There may be some of that, along with the bar gatherings and such.

What I've seen is working parents who need a few hours each day to telecommute, or tend to aging parents, organize playgroups so each of them can get the time to do so. Seems like the best compromise. And the CDC guidelines allow for small groups of people to come together who have been in regular contact over the past few weeks anyway.

Totally did not take it as bagging on me, b/c, not to be self-congratulatory, but it's pretty much what I said point for point.

Futures say we'll open down to the level of the circuit breakers, which is astonishing given the decline to zero fed rate. All I can say is frack.

I guess POTUS is not printing out these 5% drops in the market and signing them for friends. Eh well maybe the bargain hunters will reinflate the market in CVS and Labquest stock.

Wah. This is going to be the mother of all "evolving point of view" threads (and of course, the wheel's still in spin)

Palm Beach County started drive thru testing at one location today from 10 to 2. You call a #, answer questions to qualify for an appt. Phone # is overwhelmed so I left a message for a call back.

They probably have half a dozen kits and 12,000 people calling.

drive through testing from 10-2? what if someone gets a flat tire in the line?

Its appointment only. There's a Tire Choice next door.
