Oh Wesley Welker, you are a man amongst men: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=4963572

This play was so beautiful I didn't even notice how, amazingly, modest receiving TE Walter draws the SS and LB into double coverage, freeing up Welker who has already blown by the CB. Excellent vision by the QB to pick this up, and boy is it awesome to contribute to a huge play like that!

And bring on Canberra! We already beat them in their house!

heck yeah... good game all around. And although we are gassed... You have to figure its playoff time and they must be gassed too!... Heck this will be the first game in last three all be at 100% with Wesley Welker... He started that first drive against the bandits with 94% and playing on HARD payed off!

Wow, I didn't even notice we missed 3 FGs. Rare to see from Kicky, hopefully he got it all out of his system, LOL.

Also big props to Think Tank and Pio for their insane line work (2 sacks each!).

I just put up a wanted ad for secondary depth for the next 2 games. Hopefully we'll get a bite, and be able to supplement our ST with him as well.

Awesome, awesome game guys. Too bad Fiji didn't win!

I dunno what to do about our running game. It seems like running the ball is getting really hard and it's not just for our team, my RB in another league has had the same issues.

I've tried changing running to outside and setting Maroney to speed tactics as well as dumping points into Speed and it's just not working. I don't care about my stats at all I just want to be able to run the ball enough so that we're not 1 dimensional.

Something to think about for 2 days from now.

GREAT GOING!

From what I've been seeing when I watch the games, I think some of it, at least, might be the result of the OL not having enough speed to get out and block for you on outside runs. There are a number of cases where Maroney runs out to the side with the tackle trailing behind him, then gets taken down by the OLB or DE.

FYI, Cav is at 66 energy now, so at 18+15, he'll be at 99 for the next game - go ahead and keep him on ST if you need him.

How 'bout them D tackles? 2 sacks and a hurry each for Tank and Pio. Now that's some DEFENSE!!!

Pretty great win!

Although in all fairness one of Pio's sacks came because nobody blocked him, and the other was a definite coverage sack (the QB had about 8 seconds to throw before Pio stumbled in on him). I'll take it though!

Another playoff game, another win. 17-12, that was a close one. Very solid game by the D to hold them to FGs and our offense scored when we needed to. So who do we have to face next? Canberra again? Will the same gameplan work twice?

One thing I just noticed from our last game against Canberra is that we had a DE (Red Sneed, CPU level 6) backing up Pio at DT, if we can we should put Brice Goldsmith (CPU DT level 9) in as the backup for both Tank and Pio, he's got a better chance when one of the starters is out.

Its going to be on the DTs to hold the line and take up some blocks in this game, their O-line is damn good. Looks like last time the D did a great job stopping the outside runs/pitches, but we got gouged a little up the middle. Saddle up Tank, time for the big boys to earn their keep!

so we could have had another 9 pts? not bad...

that would mean we would have had a very nice win over the number one seeded team in ALPHA...

but for canberra, i think its their running game that should be focused on a little more

their passing game is no joke though, so put focus on each, but more on their run game...

tobias, dont forget to change your advanced tactics back to normal

the missed FG are truly bizarre. I wish I could pinpoint what happened. As of right now I'm writing it off as bad luck. I'm just glad it didn't cost us the game. The thing I find truly bizarre is the short distance of the missed FGs which doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the points kicky has in confidence and vision.

The thing that worries me about Canberra is the depth in their running back. Their 3rd string RB is level 14, and there are 11 offensive linemen on the roster that are level 12 or higher. The defensive line is going to have to hold down the fort in a major way. On the positive side, though, as long as we can keep our starters up, they can handle any of the lines, and it seems like we all have very good stamina along the front line.

Their running game looks quite good, but we might need some turnovers to help with this one. We've got Barkley...

Also, Red Sneed isn't a CPU player . Let him continue to play above Goldsmith. He did OK versus these guys last time.

Yeah, hopefully they try to take it to the air- that's where I'm most confident for us. Our CBs may be gassed, but they're off of ST duty, so they should be able to play fine tomorrow. I'm definitely not anticipating Barkley and Pietro logging 194 combined snaps again, either. Right before the Brisbane game, I put a few points into sticky hands for Pietro, and it seemed to pay off because he grabbed his first INT of the season. With any luck he might be able to snag another one tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll get some bites on the recruitment offers I sent out for secondary depth, too.

Oops my bad, I thought I saw "CPU" next to his name. Sorry!

maybe teh line had something to do with it?

do we have good blockers protecting on FG attempts?
