Chad Jackson -- will he make a difference?

Jackson still has a chance to have an impact this year. We have at least 4 games left. If he's healthy enough, I'd kinda like to see BB just put him out there for as many snaps as he can handle physically and see what happens for better or for worse. There's a chance he could get hot. Either way, he benefits in the long term.

He's had more snaps than a lot of us think, but it seems like it might be the right time to, for the lack of better words, unleash him.

IMO, we have 3 true playmakers on offense. Brady, Maroney and Jackson. Jackson is mosty potential right now, but it is potential nonetheless.

Yeah that's what they do on offense, just throw guys out there and hope they get hot.

Indeed. If he shows up today and have like 5 (his current career high is 2) catches I'd be more than willing to change my opinion of him, but until then, he's just a rookie that can't get healthy.

I have absolutely zero expectation for him this year. But next year I will be looking out for him to make an impact on our offense. This WR corp needs a stabilizer and he could be that guy for us next year.

Lets set a line... who will have more catches by the end of the year. Vote early and vote often.

Options
1) O.J. Santiago
2) Chad Jackson

<< The entire wr situation in very bizarre now. They are so thin. >>

It has always seemed to me that BB doesn't really understand the WR position or its importance.

What I find most depressing is knowing that if Brady truly had a playmaking WR (like a Harrison or a Moss or even a Price), the entire offense would likely be so much more vicious, helping out both the running and passing games.

Alas, I think as long as Brady and BB are together we're going to have to settle for a stream of wide receiver "leftovers".

Yes. We'll just have to live with a not-too-bright coach who lacks your deep understanding of the WR position and console our dissapointment by settling for more Lombardi Trophies only. Woe be unto us as Pats fans.

Jackson ... the man with speed ... the man with hands.
Lots of Potential ... the next great hope.
...... fizzzzzzzzzzzzle. pop duhaaaaaaaaaaah.

I am as others are very disappointed in this kid.

Fragile fragile injury ridden Chad Jackson.

Not being on the field is one thing but I 've seen him drop TOOOOOO many
balls for all the hype that came with this kid.
Right now he is no more than a BETHEL sustitute.

I keeping hoping maybe this week ... maybe this week ... but nothing.

I've decided to stop hoping and say HE WILL NOT CONTIBUTE THIS YEAR!
NEVER NO WAY --- HE'S A FIRST YEAR BUST!

( got to try reverse psychology on this one )

Did he have a injury history (especially hamstring and groin) when he was at Florida?

He was only a full time player his Jr year (88 rec 900 yards 9 TDs). He came out after his Jr. year. He is only 21 yrs old, maybe he is going through a growth spurt?

Incredibly with Kite now on the roster the Patriots reciever core consists of 4 ex-Gator WRs and Troy Brown. How does that Happen?

You guys are being way too impatient with the kid. This deep into their rookie seasons, Watson, Wilfork and Warrenere all complete zeroes for the team. Givens and Brady weren't even zeroes... they didn't even make the radar.

Jackson is a great natural talent, and it's way too early to judge.

Now, the question whether he'll make an impact this year... who can say? I will say, though, that I the Pats want to be SB champs this year, I dont see how it can be done without him becoming more productive.

Personally, I believe that Gabriel's release has more to do with Jabar Gaffney than Chad Jackson. But, my impression is that there is something about Gabriel as a person that the coaching staff doesn't like. On talent and productivity alone, there's no cause to release him this deep into the season. I think he must not have fit in the clubhouse.

At the start of the season, I put the over/under on Jackson's catches at 17. It now looks as if it will come in Under.

Brady recently said that Jackson hasn't even practiced in a few weeks.

I think Gaffney is going to be a good player for us the last few weeks and into the playoffs - his #s are almost identical to Givens over the years. He's a solid player.
