Brady has the greatest coach of all time. Even if JG doesn't win the SB, that doesn't mean JG's future performance isn't be better than Brady's future.

The thing that Brady apologists don't get is that JG looks incredibly good right now. He's turned a team from potential worst in league to playoff calibre. He also looked really good in his 1.5 games last year. He's not a flash in the pan. He has composure, leadership, drive, etc.

Now, even with the above, I don't tihnk trading him was wrong. I do, however, think the Pat's could've taken the approach this year where they play Garropollo more in the 4th q or whenever we have a 10+ pt lead. It would give Brady some rest -- meaning more likilhiood he would be injury free in the playoffs as most of the recent playoffs he has not been 100%. Also would've showcased Jimmy so that when we traded him in this offseason we could've gotten a better pick.

I love these over reactionary posts. It's purely subjective and based on a few wins. "Brady apologists"?

The fact is there were only two choices to be made. Cut Brady too soon or trade JG. That's it. They kept the guy who won the last SB and is having a MVP type season. Damn that was a tough choice.

The league will adjust to JG and JG will have to adjust to the league. It happens to every single QB. It happened to Brady which is why you hear pundits preaching about Brady's improved movement in the pocket or Brady's improved decision making earlier in his career.

I'm enjoying JG's success and hope he has a HOF type of career but the choice to trade him was the only choice in my mind.

If the Patriots can trade up into a position to draft one of the Big Three QBs this April... watch the hand wringing about JG disappear.

That's true, but I think we have other huge priorities for these draft picks right now, especially with how light our draft was last year. I wouldn't expect bill to take a QB above the 4th round

As always, I voted Ray. Had the option not been there, I’d be irate.

Back to the story : who knows what Jimmy will become ? Even BB - who no doubt has an excellent idea - cannot be certain. Injuries, GM decisions, many factors will play a role.

I just hope that (1)Brady lasts (2)BB gets a promising successor this Spring/next Spring.

prscott arguably looked better last year than Jimmy G does this year.

In 15 real starts Prescott had 2 300 yard games. JG has 2 300 yard games in 4 starts... he is on pace for 4800 yards over a 16 game season

And then this season without Elliot and without an elite OL he looks worse than Jacoby.

Next year JG can pretty easily count on having a better OL and more offensive weapons.
