Celtics playoff run: drive for #18

Why? 36-40 percent should be readily doable. The average almost 38 percent for the season.
Sorry I wasn’t clear…I was referring to the 4th qtr

The refs are not going to allow these scrums moving illegal picks, grabbing mauling, in Boston.

The NBA simply needs to extend this series.

It absolutely would not allow the Warriors to go down 2-0. No way

Wow, was I way off. Yes Tatum lead the Celtics with 28 points but his plus minus was -36. Thursday heroes Horford, White and Smart combined were 6 for 23 for 16 points and 10 turnovers,

Nice early start but what happened to the intensity? Careless turnovers and the Warriors defense just crushed them.

You can't give them easy points and that's exactly what we did with 30 + off TO.

None of the supporting cast showed up at all. 12 points between Al, Grant, Smart, RW. JB was 5/17.

Disappointing after a decent start. We really should have been in this one more. Especially with Thompson struggling. JT & JB need to be that duo every night.

We know we can play with him in a series. That's not the question imo. It's whether we can impose our will when needed. Tonight most of the squad just didn't show up. I expect much better going forward especially from Al & Smart. I'd also like to see JB try to get a little more physical early on. I'm always saying this but some of his shots and decisions tonight were really bad.

Bad night

Wow, Smart and Horford with 2 apiece. Game sounded like a mess. Is Williams ok?

That'a a wrap on these playoffs. Only reason it isn't 2-0 is because of 1 hot quarter for the Celtics and it happened to be the worst quarter for the Warriors. Warriors have schooled them in the other 7 quarters.

I think one of the biggest differences was Golden State decided to get REALLY in-yer-face physical with Green being a tone-setter defensively and it worked. Lots of double-teaming whoever had the ball ate up shot clock time while making passing difficult. As a result the Celtics were left with forcing a lot of bad shots. As I posted earlier, what happened to Boston's intensity? They let themselves get manhandled and the Warriors aren't known for that.

As much as I love him as a player. Jalen Brown is a liability in handling double teams. Also he drives me nuts with the jump then pass stuff.

Green is a menace....and it works.

Time to match the BS.

It's still a long series, but Boston has to take advantage of their home court.

first and foremost, Draymond Green is a giant POS. He is a thug and they (NBA/Refs) let him get away with it. He has no other talent other than being a pain in the ***. We have no answer on this current team. No Rick Roby, no Morris brothers, no enforcer to stand up to him. He will continue to pull his BS and that will be the key to the series. They need to get their **** together back in Boston

Second, the NBA is a farce. It has been ever since the rigged ping pong ball that gifted Patrick Ewing to NY. This game is an embarrassment and the way it is officiated.

Lastly, Tatum is not the star everyone claims he is. First team all NBA my ***. Inconsistent and immature. He needs to grow up and take over this series.

Draymond Green's antics were dumb but to be expected in what was basically an elimination game for GS. In my opinion Marcus Smart isn't getting enough blame today for his bad play in the first quarter. He tried to get cute with his passes multiple times in the 1st quarter that lead to turnovers to help GS get back in the game.

Disagree. The Celtics were getting wide open looks game 1. In this game, the refs weren't calling all the illegal stuff, the grabbing, the mauling, the moving screens. No wonder the Celtics could not get open. We saw that at the start of the game when Green tackled Grant Williams. You knew right then this was how it's going to go.

The first game, the Celtics got what they wanted, movement wasn't impeded, and they clamped down on Curry.

This is going 7 games.

It's how the NBA wants it. In one of the next 2 games, the refs were blow a whistle every single time Looney or Green grabs someone like they're doing now.

It's a damn script.

Passing is going to be very difficult when every option is being grabbed and mauled.

I can never understand reffing in the NBA.

I am perfectly fine with contact on drives / shooting. I wouldn't call most of the fouls you see called on that. But I absolutely despise all the wrestling that goes on and impedes the game. It makes for ugly basketball.

and the "contact" Brown had on the opponent layup.
that was a blatant screw job by the refs. the announcers are almost afraid to criticize the refs because the commish is running this side show of a sport. I cant even watch any longer

The announcers did criticize the refs in both of these instances. They both said Green tackled Grant and there was absolutely nothing Grant could do otherwise, and then they noted the minimal contact on the missed layup.

So far so good ...Bob Kraft handily in front row near Celtics.
