Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

I know the tournament’s not going anywhere so I should try to care, but I just hate it.
It’s kind of stupid but it could be much better. Most of the games are in this “Group Stage” which isn’t really a group stage. The reliance on point differential is just moronic. There were some bizarre scenarios last year and might be this year as well.

But why go through all that just to get a grand total of 7 knockout games? That’s what the fans actually want to see. It should also not be conference based. Everyone would want to see Celtics-Lakers, Celtics-Thunder, Lakers-Knicks or a whole slew of other knockout games which is like a mini game 7.

Instead, we have 7 games, which featured the Pelicans and Kings last year and Hawks and Magic this year. Most of the league’s premier teams weren’t even in these featured games. And the issue isn’t that underdogs advanced, it’s that there was no actual spectacle / upset moment that allowed them to advance…all just seeming randomness.

Not a bad loss for the Celtics really. With White and Brown out, they were out of gas and their shooting down the stretch reflected it. Mitchell went off and that’s all she wrote. Can’t win them all.

I was at Moana 2 with my daughter. I turned on the game on my YouTube TV app and Celtics were up 8 in the 4th.

Tatum got the ball on a fast break, got mugged by three guys, no whistle, then on the other end Garland drew a phantom foul, so I just wrote turned it off and wrote off the loss.

Saw the end of the game later on replay. See my post a few weeks ago about the absurdity of end game strategy where fouling is the better option than allowing a 3 point attempt. NBA continues to do its best to ruin the game.

Makes no sense for the average NBA fan and where the League wants that fan's need it now personality to coveted. Pretty obvious even to me.

Tatum gets totally ass ****ed whenever he drives to the basket and never gets a call. Yeah, some of it might be his earlier BS when he groped left and right but now he is an NBA champion, top 5 at worst NBA player. He deserves every single legit call he should get.

Put him on the Lakers and he is averaging 40 a game just by virtue of more FT attempts.

The NBA & the NFL have real problems on their hands with regards to the refs. It's weirdly coordinated with the uptick in legalized gambling. You just have to wonder what's up there.

Pritchard has turned into such a weapon. Having a guy come off the bench and routinely put up 20+ is a pretty great luxury.

If Bridges is worth 5 firsts, the Celtics should be getting an extra first round pick thru 2085.

Blessing in disguise with KP and Big Al out so much early in season:
Queta and Kornet getting lots of run.
Kornet was obviously a beast with the 6 blocks but Queta is improving. Doesn't look so lost anymore and has gotten better defensively.
This will pay off in the long long postseason.
Combined with PP's continued great play this team is better than last year's.
And that's w/o even mentioning JT and JB's large chips on their shoulders.
But repeating is hard. Every team is bringing their best every game.
Will the C's be as motivated as the hungry team from last year?
I think so. It comes down to health.
Fully healthy, no team is beating the C's in a best of 7 series. Ain't happening.
And their depth is better now so they're able to sustain the loss of a starter better than most contenders.

I think Drew Peterson probably had two games in a row that were better than just about any that Jordan Walsh has had.

Definitely.

C's cruisin'.
NBA dance teams suck. ALL of em.
Including ours. They all do the same thing to the same dumbass music over and over and over again ad nauseum.
I watch a lot of hoops and I haven't seen a single one that had any talent.
And the ladies ain't even hot. Most of em are pudgy and chunky.
Damn y'all NBA, this the best ya got?

What was up with the broadcast team last night? They missed 2 steals - Hauser's in the 1st quarter & White's in the second. To make matters worse, there were no replays on either one. Did they not have a camera on the ball?? If they would stop splashing the damn advertisements all over the place and just showed us the game, we wouldn't miss these quick plays.

DWhite and Pritchard have been on the side of a milk carton with the scoring through three quarters. A little offensive production from them would go a long way to win the fourth.

Only three shot attempts from Pritchard.

The fact the Greek Dud doesn't have a foul this entire game tell you how rigged the NBA is at times. About as much chance as 4 people going 16-0 in the weekly pick'em.

Hell of a game from Tatum.

Another **** call by the NBA. Middy jumped into Tatum, pulled a Harden which the NBA supposedly was getting rid of. Even on review, they get it wrong.

That was a satisfying win.
Giannis doesnt register quite as high as Lebron on the hate meter but he's getting there.
