He's the best defensive player on the team and 2nd best all-around one.I said in my initial post 'barring health' which is why I like Porzingis but yeah obviously health is a major factor.
Brown is a more impactful player over the course of 82 games, is why I'd take him. I am skeptical that Derrick White has the assertiveness to take over a game on his own. He is confident when things around him are also going well but Ive never watched him come in and assert himself as "the guy" in crunch time. He chooses to play second or third fiddle.
If he is a star like you guys are saying he would have more confidence to assert himself like that type of player. I haven't seen it. He is a damn good player and having the best stretch of games in his entire career.
I think you guys are overreacting. Everyone is overreacting to a stretch of good games or a stretch of bad games. I've seen everything from KP is the 2nd best player, Jaylen is the 5th best player/Hauser is a better fit, now Derrick White is actually the 2nd best player, in fact hes not far behind Tatum. It's all knee jerk reactions.
It's like we cant just enjoy a team that is gelling and playing good across the board. Its always "this guy is better than that guy". I understand that I play a part in my defense of Jaylen Brown just because its over the top. At the end of the day they are all making each other look better by virtue of them all being good freaking players. Tatum, Brown, White, Porzingis, Holliday...none of them would be as good as they are now if you stuck them on another team.
I know for sure that Porzingis and Derrick White became better players when they came here to play with Tatum and Brown. Those dudes weren't leading the Wizards or Spurs as playoff teams when they had more central roles. In fact those teams sucked. I've also seen Tatum get almost swept in the playoffs a few years ago when he didnt have Jaylen Brown. And I'm sure Brown would not be as good without Tatum, even if their play styles clash at times. See the 2023 ECF Game 7 for that.
In your opinion and some others, he is.Players improve YoY. DWhite has done that. He's the best defensive player on the team and 2nd best all-around one.
Everyone is enjoying the team. There is nothing wrong with debating who has more value after JT.
I love the way Brown is playing now. Playing much smarter and less selfish. Better defensively also.In your opinion and some others, he is.
1. Tatum
2. KP/Brown
3. White
4. Holliday
5. Horford
6. Pritchard
7. Hauser
That’s my opinion on the value and overall quality of players. KP, when healthy, is a major impact player. Brown is obviously a sticking point for some of you but it’s hard to justify DWhite > KP.
I’m loving the way just about everyone is playing with the exception of Tatum but as I’ve said previously he’ll break out of his slump and look like the MVP candidate we know he is. It’s a yearly regular season trend.I love the way Brown is playing now. Playing much smarter and less selfish. Better defensively also.

My primary concern about the team is Joe Mazzula. The 3-ball obsession is not good and IMO it is a significant why we lost to GSW. He’s doing better with timeouts but he is way too stubborn. He also doesn’t seem to know how to draw up crunch time plays either.
It happens way too often. Tatum goes for the contested three to tie or win. He does it a lot and he’s not particularly good at it. He definitely make a lot of clutch plays but not the last second shots. I’m thinking of three I remember. The game winner against the Sixers last year, the bank shot in the bubble (I think) against the Bucks, which was luck and a game winner against the Knicks back in his third year, early in the seaso .I agree about the GSW game. Why not drive to the hoop more? Why would we settle for a 3 ball at the end of the game with that defense? Seems like bad coaching decisions. Tatum could have hustled up the floor, and driven to the hoop. Even if Tatum had made the 3 pointer, I still would have hated the shot.
The hoops version of Alex CoraTalk about PROgression toward the mean. PP should be over 40% from 3 after this game reaching over his career average... This is after getting as low as 15% at one point. Mazu has patience I don't have.
Still gives me chills.Beat LA! Beat LA!
Some of you may remember the very first time that was ever chanted by anyone, anywhere:
Game 7 NBA Eastern Conference Finals
at the Boston Garden(with Johnny Most high above courtside) 1982.
As the final minute was draining from the clock and Philly had a comfortable lead, the chant began faintly from the Celtics fans and grew and grew until the whole joint was rocking.
The Sixers players couldn't believe their ears. C's/Sixers were bitter rivals who had battled each other in the playoffs for years and wasn't rare for punches to be thrown.
But it was a sign of respect from Boston fans. And also a show of disdain to the glitzy, showtime Fakers.
Philly was East Coast, tough and gritty like Boston. LA was Hollywood.
I remember getting chills when that chant rocked the Garden.
The way they lost to the Warriors is ptsd stuff.Strange. 4 days of posts about a tough loss against the Warriors on Wednesday night and not a word is mentioned about 2 dominating wins on Fri/Sat nights.
I read at the Ringer the Lakers will have LeBron attacking the rim all day. With different Celtics in intensive coverage, can we wear him down or get him in foul trouble?I’ve said this before but I really don’t hate any NBA players except LeBron. He always dogs it all season but plays his hardest for a stretch of time when needed. Undoubtedly the flopping, whining POS will be giving it 200% tomorrow after resting all season while half assing it besides his ********, lucky undeserved IST “banner.” Going to be hard to stomach if the Cs lose this game.

LeBron has won three championships with super teams (people forget that pre-assembled 2014-15 Cavs team was the preseason favorite, not the Warriors) and one ridiculous championship in the bubble against like two Hear starters. Every year you hear about how this guy might be the greatest ever and constant whining that he only has one all-nba teammate.
