Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Your son's socker coach is the real loser if he's teaches that kind of nonsense to kids.
The boys were 17 years old. They did not play hard and lost. I think a life lesson at 17 is a good thing.

I think we're all agreed on that, although sometimes I wonder about the be careful what you wish for thing. For all the talk of Edwards being the next Michael Jordan, if the Celtics played the wolves it would be the Celtics who had the best player on the court.

But I do agree I prefer Dallas, I was talking more about the length of the series, I don't know if it really matters how many games they play really, but it's more dramatic if Minnesota wins a couple so it's definitely more fun
Agree. They are the path of lease resistance. Not saying they would be a cake walk but I could see us in 6 against Mavs.. with the wolves it's a 7 game grueling series. I'm not all that optimistic that KP will even play. I'm sure the team is taking it slow with him.. but he would need to be a big factor for us. It's the finals guys can use the off season to get 100%. Edwards goes 100 MPH on every play, he's 22, young and playing of his youth. He's never been this deep into the post season. Minnesota expounds so much energy on defense that thier offense suffered sometimes.

I think KP plays even if the 1st Finals game is tomorrow (which it’s not).
They kyrie talk is at naseum.. fans just need to let it go, focus on beating whoever we see.. bringing this city banner 18.. kyrie was a mercenary for money here.. he wasn't a long time player here.

Gotta be careful of Luka‘s foul baiting. Did they not make a rule about blatantly launching oneself into a defender to draw the foul? They didn’t seem to want to apply it to Luka in that spot.
I think Luka's mom gives Zach Wilson's a run for her money.

Don't want the wolves thier size down low is a issue for us especially with KP out. Who even knows if he plays the rest of way? The same injury sidelined Giannis. Rather see the mavericks..
We won't see the Wolves. No team has ever come back from 3-0 in the playoffs and the Wolves will not be the first.

You seem to be under the mistaken belief that there's some sort of consistency in how the NBA refs games.

They are inconsistently consistent in calling travelling

Don't care who C's play next.
You play whoever you play.
C's are better than both those teams even with KP playing limited minutes.
Boston has shown me enough that I have complete faith in them.

Same here. Not saying Mavs are a cake walk.. they present challenges, but not like the wolves do. I actually have kind of taken back my plea for McDaniels.. the guy fouls like on every play. LOL not what you want in your 2nd team defender. I don't know if KP comes back?
I also think it’s a psychological thing with Dallas not sweeping like the Celts swept Indiana.

Being unable to close a team out on your home court is not a good thing.

I expect MN to win G5.

I just read on news break Cs are not sure if KP will be ready by game 1..

Given the lack of information from the C's camp and the knowledge that this is not an easy injury to recover from, I've resigned myself to either an absent or ineffective KP the rest of the way.

Horford has been playing great (and logging big minutes) in his absence. Thank God they're getting a week + off as they're going to need him to continue to do so.

Do you really believe they played hard enough to make it to a championship and then just decided to mail it in that day?

I highly doubt that. And if they did, that is absolutely on the coach for not properly preparing them for the moment. It sounds like a guy who didn't get to play when he was in HS and is now trying to make up for his lack of accomplishments through a bunch of teenagers.

They've shown they can gain momentum in the past, and perhaps Dallas has faltered a bit with all the love they've been getting.

I agree this is a definite possibility. I would still rather see Dallas in the finals (not because I think they suck, more about matchups) but MN could push this series long.

I agree. But our bench worries me. We really need to get something from the bench. Hauser his shot has been off. Why not play Queta? He's a great rim protector, offensive rebounding big. Brad will have to sure up the bench this off season for sure.

I agree. I thought Brissett was decent with the time he was given. Queta can provide some minutes and fouls if nothing else. Hauser can't be trusted right now. There's been little news about Pritchard, but if he broke his nose or orbit and has to wear a mask that could potentially hurt his shooting. Kornet is supposed to return but will his wrist injury be healed?

There are a lot of question marks on the bench. It reminds me of the KC Jones years. One of the reasons the Lakers won more back then was they were willing to go 9 deep while KC ran Celtics starters into the ground.

I really want the WCF to be a dragged out, injury-filled, triple OT 7 game series with the survivor crawling out of the blood and mud, dragging themselves onto the plane to play a Celtics team that earned their rest.

I get what you're saying about Brad but honestly if Horford was coming off the bench as intended things would be looking pretty good right now. That said the bench is likely going to need some help next year. I would imagine Horford will retire. Out of the rest Pritchard is probably the only one who warrants a spot right now unless others step up.

Amazing that a guy who was never there makes a determination that miraculously fits his agenda because he thinks that the people who were there are completely confused. And then @Kdo5 likes the post. You can not make this stuff up.

More than a third of the kids that played on the team went on to play on Div. 1 college teams. One kid went on to play at an English premier club junior team.

You are so clueless. Amazing what we run into on the Internet. Some bozo accusing others of living through teenagers. This could only happen on the Internet. In person I am sure these bozos would run and hide.

Whatever dude. Who cares what they did later? They were boys then, and poorly prepared by their coach (or perhaps were mentally fried after playing all season for a coach and parents who believe finishing second was unacceptable), who then blamed them for the loss.

What is my agenda, exactly? I'll wait.

I agree it's amazing what we run into, like a guy who would consider his 17 year old a loser because he lost a championship game (and somehow is proud of it), then name calls and vaguely threatens other posters. You've shown yourself to be not too bright, and someone who has anger issues and poor parenting skills.

Keep answering back, I'll keep running rings around you.

Yup. You got me. You are running rings around me. I have to admit that. You and @Kdo5 are holding hands running rings around me. Well done.
