I think us and Indy would be the 2 teams with the most interest.
Indy would be my bet for him.
However there is a text from Andrew Lucks wife that leaked saying how much he missed the game and wants to come back.
My guess is since Indy controls his contract he would just stay there.
Or would he be a free agent?

It’s not Wentz. Trading for Wentz right now is a pure panic move. You’re hammering the table for an expensive, bad quarterback with an attitude problem who we would also have to give up draft capital for when FA hasn’t even started yet and the draft is still a couple of months away. When, not if, he sucks a fat one, he sets the franchise back even further.

Moreover, the cap is going to shrink this season. Presumably, some decent to good players will be casualties. That may include QBs as well. Let someone else take on that albatross. Your Jimmy G idea is much better for a placeholder. We at least know he isn’t a locker room lawyer and he’s also shown the ability to be a competent starting QB within the same system. We have a near total rebuild on our hands. Almost every single positional grouping with the exception of the OL and maybe the secondary is a need right now.

Except I am not hammering the table for an expensive bad qb. I am looking for the best QB we can get and this is a guy who has been a very good qb then had one bad year. Your over exaggeration about his personality based upon minuscule crumbs of evidence that you repeat over and over illustrates you are grasping at straws.

We need a qb and we have at least 60 mill of cap space. Wentz contract would be about average for a starter.
Not getting a qb now you can win with is what will set the franchise back years.
Getting a slug you can’t win with like Brissett or newton sets the franchise back. Relying on the draft choice as the savior sets the franchise back when the reality is a drafted Qb is much more likely to fail that win playoff games. Teams that rely on drafting a savior are the teams that never progress. In rare cases it works but mostly it fails. We need both a qb we can with with, one who the draft choice may never be able to unseat and a draft choice as well. There is no room for not getting this right.

I’m good with Jimmy G in that role. I’m good with wentz. Wentz is actually cheaper.
Im good with any QB that I can’t see building a winner around and then I draft the future an because whoever we get won’t be a sure thing. Neither of them will be.

My analogy in not wrong if you believe, as I do, that the Pats will try to do it their way as opposed to doing what everyone else does because it's what everyone else does. I do believe that they will have to spend your 20-25m to get a good QB, because that's what the market will bear. Whether or not the Patriots believe that is another story.

But to put this back on topic, from reports, Wentz is a bad dude with a bad contract. Pass. I am of the belief they will either go with a 10m dollar man like a Mariota or a rookie and let either prove that they are worth 25m before they tie themselves to a Wentz/Goff type contract and be stuck someone who underperforms or pay a Goff type ransom to get a guy who will perform at the level of the contract.

Why would you think the patriots way is to have a crappy qb when they won by having the GOAT? If any team sees the value of a QB it’s this one. I think you have a very mistaken view of how the patriots think. They certainly don’t think QBs don’t matter.

They need to win. Winning costs. Are you really telling me stinking at QB so you can spread 10-15 million over the rest of your roster is a good plan? Do you really think that’s belichicks view on how you win in the NFL? Was he asleep while he won with the GOAT at qb? We were forced into that exact situation last year. Do you think he didn’t notice?

Now many teams overpay for QBs who are “names” and stat compilers but can’t win football games. He won’t do that but what he will do is identify the best guy for him to win with and pay whatever it takes, if he can afford to.

A better plan than shelling out a bunch of money and draft picks for Carson Wentz? His teammates hate him, his coach just left because of the friction, he's been replaced by Hurts, and he had a 72.8 rating last year.

The team needs to make sound decisions if they want to win now and in the future. So a better plan than yours is to stay away from this one.

It’s basically half a team. When you account for the fact that 60 mill will all be first year cap hits, if really is half a team.

If opt outs don’t return, and the cap goes up 10 mill as rumored 60 mill could be 90 mill.

solid TD/INT numbers....he took care of the ball in solid passing offenses.......most of the rest of his numbers are middle of the pack

he's solid upper end of the 2nd tier........there's very, very few elite QB's in this league...he's not one of them........he's in that bunch of 2nd tier guys, near the top of that group.......he's jared goff.......he's ryan tannehill.....derek carr......honestly after the top handfull of QB's, there's a lot of guys that are pretty similar stats wise, a lot comes down to skillsets that match schemes, and intangibles.......and cost.......

I'm telling you I believe the book quote. I believe they think they can win with a middle of the road guy. I believe they had the GOAT without paying a GOAT type contract, which allowed them to spread out money among the rest of the team. I believe they have an economic plan which dictates that players over perform for their contract. At the very least, they have to perform at the level of the contract. If they do not perform at the level of the contract, they have to have a contract that favors the team moving on from said player. I believe they have a long history of not getting into chitty contracts. I believe that many teams over pay stat compilers, which drives the market for good QB to stupid money which the team is reticent in getting into, because too many of those guys are just as you said, stat compilers and not winners. As I stated earlier, I believe in the end, they are going to have to pay 20-25m to get a good guy. I am also telling you that I believe they think they can get a guy who is a reclamation project and pay him less than the 20m, and coach him up so the value (there's a familiar word) in said player is better than the contract. Pay him 10-12m and coach him up to a 25m performance level.

I am also telling you I believe you want to argue about it, when, at the base level, we agree that they have to pay for The Guy. I just think Wentz isn't The Guy.

teams are looking to move guys like stafford and gooff and wentz because they are locked in, paying too much money, for a 2nd tier QB, and all that cap $$ is making it impossible to put their roster over the edge.......goff for stafford? that's a lateral move, could MAYBE argue stafford's style fit better, but that was more about moving out of a bad contract than anything else.......

one 7-9 season of clearing cap space and preparing for a build, and everyone panics and want's to be another mismanaged franchises.....it's like they didn't learn anything over the past 20 years

yes having TB12 made the past 20 years special.......doesn't change the fact that this franchise, overall, in relation to the rest of this league, was managed well.......so many teams never see real success, or get lucky with a build, have one or two good years, and then can't sustain it.....and bad contracts are a big reason why

He was the mvp in 2017 if he wasn’t injured.
In 2018 while recovering he threw for 280 yards a game 21 td and 7 picks.
In 2019 he threw for 4000 yards 27 Tds and 7 picks.
show me 10 guys clearly better in those 5 seasons.
