Caldwell cut

EXACTLY! jeez, where the hell were you when i was arguing for my life against the Caldwell faction?

Once again I'm right about something and was treating like garbage until it actually happened.

Then after it becomes true, the little group cannot be found.

#1) If you read the post you were responding to (and allegedly agreeing with) you are then saying that Reche Caldwell was a nice #3 receiver.

#2) If you read the post you were responding to (and allegedly agreeing with) you are then saying that Reche Caldwell was only outmatched by the talent that was subsequently obtained this spring.

Neither of those two points were the points you originally were making.

The only reason people react negatively towards you is NOT because of your opinions, but 1) HOW you taunt others, 2) wish injury upon certain players and, MOST IMPORTANTLY 3) have originated false and misleading thread titles in the past.

Since your above post also illustrates your overarching need for attention, this is the last time I will respond in this thread.

Whats up Keegs. Looks like we got the last laugh now. HAAHAHA. Remember all the crap talkers? I really wonder about the people who thought Reche was actually going to play.

Reche was a very hard worker on ad off the field. His catch vs, San Diego was pure clutch. I wish him the best.

I was just caching up on my non-Patsfans.com weekend reading and noticed this little nugget from yesterday afternoon on PFT. Could be another attempt to rationalize the Moss talk or it could be beyond Welker the rest of the WR roster was a crap shoot in the HC's eyes? That said, if there is any truth to this we could be in for a slightly bumpier ride out of the gate than most here believe, and the makeup of the unit went right down to the wire for perhaps a slightly more unsettling reason...Bill didn't see that much difference between any of them, other than Welker, and was willing to let the league make his decision for him if a more lucrative offer came in on one of the projected top 2. When one didn't, he cut the most expensive of the bottom 3...

"CALDWELL CUT BY PATS

The New England Patriots have released receiver Reche Caldwell, according to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe.

Caldwell started in 14 regular-season games for the Pats in 2006. He had the most receptions on the team with 61, and the most receiving yards with 760. He tied with Troy Brown for the most receiving touchdowns, with four.

The move leaves the Pats with five receivers on the roster, and should help to quiet rumors that Randy Moss is in danger of being dumped or traded.

An industry source told us earlier in the day of rumors that the Pats had been putting out the word that any of their receivers, with the exception of Wes Welker, were available via trade.

We assume that Caldwell was surprised by the news. But, then again, it would be hard to distinguish such an expression from his normal, non-surprised demeanor."

It seems to me there MAY be a propaganda machine working very hard on behalf of the opposition to destroy the cohesion of the team.

But truthfully, I'm noticing PFT just throws out a lot of junk sometimes.

Industry Source. What does that mean exactly? You'd think a true source would have more definitive information. Not just rumors.

Once again you are producing misleading information. Definitely not the first time you've done this. I seem to remember you doing this before, but in a situation that was far more important and personal.

I said Caldwell should be cut. And he was.

I argued Gaffney was the better choice. And he was.

I said Caldwell would be cut before Gaffney. AND HE WAS.

I was treating like crap on here for arguing these points by you and your buddies. Then When it turns out i'm right, you post crap like that, whining about my character. Well cry me a river Shmessy. Once again, i am right, and you are wrong.

Many times a week i see misleading thread titles, personal insults, and every once in a while i'll even see injury talk but you don't go crying to those posters.

Until you start treating everyone the same, you can save your energy typing this crap to me.

have a good day.

Caldwell got caught up in a numbers game. The Pats not only have 5

good wide receivers on the roster but also 2 on PUP and two on the

practice squad. Unlike last year, they are pretty well covered.

yeah no kidding man. they are acting like they wouldn't have rubbed it in my face if Gaffney got the boot and Reche stayed.

for chrissakes, even pats1 would target me in the camp reports when reche had a good practice ("take that keegs!")

-which i actually found funny btw

But isn't it plausible that there was a bit of a logjam there, it wasn't all that clear, and that BB was, simultaneous to the logjam, trying to TRADE Caldwell (or Washington or Gaffney) and that it just didn't work out the way he'd hoped?

That is actually the most plausible explanation. They tried to trade a WR before they cut one, the guys just didn't have trade value.

I think that Caldwell will end up with the Chargers.

i would guess the chiefs would sign him...but that's just me

Get over yourself. "Treated like garbage" -- whatever. It was just a discussion about football. Not about Keegs.

The bar was higher for Caldwell. He was more expensive than the other options on the team. This is simply a situation where the better player didn't make the team because (a) they were more expensive and (b) another player was perceived as having more upside. It happens all the time when a veteran doesn't make the cut in order to keep a younger draft pick with potential on the roster.

It's likely that Washington won't be in a position to catch many passes at all from Brady this year. Why keep Caldwell around and pay him more just to sit on the bench?

I admit I was wrong about Caldwell. I still thought he would make it to the final roster just because of what he did last year. Rumors were rapid that the Pats were willing to take offers for Washington, Gaffney, or Washington to anyone other than Welker. Aparently Caldwell was the odd man out since they didn't get any trade offers worthy to trade him or anyone else.

Oh well, in hindsight, it was a little foolish that we who were involved in these endless threads spent so much time arguing over a fifth WR.

I agree. Washington will most likely not be activated for most games barring injuries. And he will likely be cut if Troy Brown and/or Chad Jackson are activated. I just figured that Caldwell would be needed early because of his experience.

As for Keegs as a victim, sometimes you reap what you sow. The Caldwell vs. Washington debate was very heated and insults were thrown around from both camps. Can Keegs honestly say that he didn't throw some insults himself or disrespect people who liked Caldwell's opinions?

during the first caldwell vs. gaffney debate i was banned for no reason and never told why.

During the 2nd caldwell vs. gaffney debate i was insulted over and over and NEVER insulted anyone back. I was being baited so that if i said something, it could be PM'd to Ian with another crybaby request to ban me.

That is how pathetic some people are.

I bet it stings knowing that they were completely wrong, and i was right, yet again.

I will take you word for it. I know the Caldwell haters were just as bad as the Caldwell fans in these debates. I can't remember your posts specifically.

Caldwell is a 3rd rate WR,Reche's success was the fact that he had Brady to throw the ball to him,Other than that he is a less than average receiver IMO

Other than Brady or Peyton throwing the ball to him Reche is not a better than average receiver IMO and he has no place anymore on this WR stacked team.

Yes,I think Washington is an upgrade over Caldwell and Gaffney as well.

I agree with you that Caldwell is probably a product of the system, but an average WR for a 4th or 5th WR isn't bad.

I don't agree with you about Washington. I think Gaffney is better than Washington. Washington is a classic underachiever. He has a lot of talent, but doesn't seem work hard enough to realize that talent. I look at him as another Bethel Johnson type. His special teams skills and contract may have made him more attractive to keep than Caldwell.

Personally, I doubt Washington will be on the active roster very often and will be the first to be cut if and when Troy Brown and/or Chad Jackson are activated off of the PUP after week 6.

The one thing Caldwell could do was stay on the field. Time will tell whether the imported receivers will do the same.

I never liked him as a player, but he was a good blocker. He was better than Patten.

No kidding. The Gaffney vs. Caldwell thread (link below) got bumped the day Caldwell was cut and guess what... the Caldwellistas were nowhere to be found. These are the same people who labeled Gaffney the, "flavor of the month," or a, "flash in the pan," and some even compared him to Jermaine Wiggins. I said in that thread, let's wait and see who comes out on top now that the playing field was even - they both got to spend the entire offseason working with the offense.
