Patriots Player Departure Caedan Wallace released

funny, when he was drafted I had zero issues with his draft pedigree, college career tape, or where the Pats selected him

Jacob Rizy needs to rise and take the last back up spot.
Someone has to whether in TC or soon to be. Not giving up on Brown yet because he was not good at Guard through the 1st Preseason game last year and then was adequate.

This is a bummer... But it was time... Was hoping he would have shown some signs of growth but never did...

C'est la vie...
I was holding out hope he could just provide some depth behind the starting guards but he never even seemed to get close to being a primary backup. Can't win em all I guess.

Fan poll would have yielded an immensely better draft unironically. Genuinely frightening outside of Maye.

If you aren't fighting in practice and trying to improve....teams give you a chance to earn a spot ..not give it to you....time to moving on

Yes. That draft class sucked. Its in the past now.

Its still early, but I think we have had two very solid drafts since then.

This is the face of a man who does not love football. Just plays it for a living.

That was a brutal draft. How they made the SB 2 years after that is wild. And how much better the roster is now then and was 2 years ago. Gotta give credit to the scouts and decision makers now.

Never leave Elliot Wolf home alone with the draft board.

As much as I hold Kraft responsible for Mayo and that absolute disaster, I give him credit for realizing it was a disaster and fixing it. That took some balls.

Okay. So no more Wallace.

I just can't get go into the narrative spin cycle over it. I don't think anybody had him as an all-pro. Beyond that, cutting a guy in camp when you're going down from 90 to 53 is going tp see some guys out on the street. Maybe he's out of the league, maybe he's not. Someone might need spotty help on the right side from an injury prone tackle that can't make the jump to left.

The rest of that draft is a bona fide "holy crap" (emphasis on crap) look-back, as of right now. I guess I have to buy that only Drake, the #3 pick in the 2024 draft, is an apparent hit... Marcellas Dial still clings to technical membership on the team, however.

Now that said, that group's been in the NFL precisely two seasons.

We just lost a Super Bowl to Sam Darnold, if you see what I'm saying.

His picks may not be able to keep a job in the NFL but the guy who picked them can.

i think that leaves dial from the non - Maye picks.

Many of us saw this coming.

The 2024 draft was so bad that I suspect it was Bob Kraft making the picks. Owners love to meddle in the Draft and Kraft has meddles before.

He lost two straight reps at an open to the public practice then mysteriously hurt his leg. He’s probably done with pro football.

I don’t blame the kid, he wasn’t the one who drafted him 3-4 rounds too early or put that 2024 dumpster fire together.

Now the competition is much harder. Maybe he goes to another team for a fresh start. It’s not like he didn’t have some talent.

Officially marks the last non Maye pick as a bust. What a disaster of a class last Drake.

Pats had a shot at these players and the board would have agreed with these picks:
Ladd McConkey
Matt Goncalves
Dominick Punni
Mason McCormick
Bucky Irving

Will give some grace that round 2-4 of that draft wasn’t exactly great. Some good players but few great.

That being said, trading down on Mcconkey for Polk is the hard one to forgive.
