Would you want to see a Bucs/Patriots SB?

I know this is a million miles premature but since it seems everyone is talking about it......

  • Pros
    • The haters would be so be having meltdowns.
    • Other teams message boards would be epically entertaining.
    • The legacies, not that they already aren't, woudl be etched in stone. I already don't see how you can make an argument Bill and Tom aren't the GOATS but people still try.
    • This board would be melting down and it would be funny to watch.
  • Cons
    • This board would be melting down and after a while to would be annoying to watch. Let's be honest it would be a bit of both. I do think the hostility in the end would reach a fevered pitch.
    • The media coverage would be unbearable. By the second week I'm so burnt out and saturated I cannot even imagine how bad it would be. Brady vs Bledsoe would be a short story compared to this ten book series.
    • The regular season game for me was bad enough. I was team Tom from the start because I believe Bill and Robert (who gets off the hook too much in this) should have done better by him. Watching the game was as close to watching your kids play against each other as it can get. Tom got his SB without Bill and I've moved on, I wish others would come and join me, and now I want Bill to get his without Tom. I also really like Mac. I think he's trending in the right direction and the people who aren't sold yet need to cut the kid some slack. He's a flipping rookie and people are holding Brady's career against him as a measuring stick. Tom wasn't always what Tom became. All that said I really don't want to have to root against Brady.

So for me in the end.....I definitely do not want to see this.
How could you not? That’s probably the juiciest storyline in the history of sports story lines. I think it would be a great finish to have Belichick beat Brady and even the score.

That'd be crazy. Brady beats Bill in the regular season but then Bill beats Brady for the ring.

This whole thread existing though just reminded me that the Pats actually have more wins right now than the Bucs, how crazy is that?

(1) RLKAG has no diminishing returns
(2) I chose AB because he’s a POS
(3) if it’s a way to guarantee seeing NE in the SB, I’ll take it
(4) otherwise - no - I’m not at all interested beyond ‘NE being in the SB’
(5) I want my fav football team to win as much as possible. Other teams are irrelevant. I like watching the sport, I kinda hate the drama the NFL stirs up. I like sport. I don’t like soap operas.
I wholeheartedly agree!!

Jordan Richards sucks at football

Personally, as long as the Pats are in the Super Bowl, I don't care who they face. I would be for a Bucs/Pats Super Bowl.

I said this in another thread. This is the Super Bowl match up the league wants. The ratings would be through the roof and the storylines would write themselves (Bill vs Tom and all the comparing legacies that goes with it, Brady passing the torch to Mac, Gronk playing the Pats for the first time, etc.).

And if the Pats lost?

I think whichever network has the game would love this matchup. I'm sure most of the teams given a choice where they're already eliminated would hate this option. League office would hate it.

From a ratings aspect the only matchups, of the realistic ones, I can see being as big would be swapping in Dallas and maybe KC for a rematch of last year.

Jordan Richards sucks at football
He had that one heads up play where he carried a guy out of bounds to negate a catch. But it was just the one play, the rest sucked

And if the Pats lost?
So be it. We’d have made it to the freaking Super Bowl which is amazing in itself. Would rather lose to Brady than anyone else.

Kinda like the '01 Rams...

I‘d rather not and not because of TB12, I just can’t stand their head coach, Bruce Arians.
dislike him to, so I would want to see the Pats kick his arse In the superbowl

The Bucs are number 16 on my list of who I want to see the Pats play in the Super Bowl. But they are on the list.
Yeah, I would like to see the gnats, and Mac doing something Tom couldn’t.

Absolutely, and with Tom Brady assisting the Pats with bad play, interceptions, over and under thrown balls and too tight in the pocket so the Pats can put the hits on him.

Go Pats with Brady's help.

No, absolutely not ! The hype would be off the charts and would take so much away from the actual game. This board would be in a frenzy with the two sides constantly trying to tear the other one down. I could do without all that drama !

OK, I am into my third year of giving up watching all professional sports, but damned if these Pats didn't just drag me back in.

I haven't watched a single game going on three years now and no longer even have cable to watch them, (but Spectrum has a special going on so we will see ;-) ),

I don't even know a lot of the players, but reading about what the Pats are doing now post-Brady, and with an impressive young QB, and they really are a compelling story.

There may be one more negative about a scenario like this that people aren't considering, and is one of the reasons why I quit watching,

Roger Goodell will feel empowered to again go after the Pats and BB, and the rest of the butt hurt fan bases, who are exhausted at getting stomped by everything Pats and BB, will be cheering him on every minute.
