Bruins 2024-2025

Poitras needs to relax. When he does, he looks very solid to my untrained eye, but there was a stretch in the second period where he could not control the puck for 3 or 4 consecutive touches. He looked like he belonged on a high school team. Very frustrating to watch because I think he is going to be a very good player in the near future.

Zadorov...Yikes!

Glad they won, but I didn't have much confidence in them for most of the game. Tough team to believe in so far. I'll "bear" it as long as they are lacing them up, but it isn't always easy to watch.

In the last couple games I've watched, I've seen Sway lose concentration to the point where you can see him relax while the puck is in their zone. Wanted to see if you noticed it too.
he makes outstanding/impossible saves, and then will let in what seems to be easy shots. just like the rest of the team, its hard to figure out what is up

Solid game last night against Ottawa. Energy and they seemed to be on the same page for once. Marchand, Geekie, and Zadorov were solid. Korpisalo was solid in net and seemed to have everything under control.

Looks like caving to Swayman was short-sighted... Wonder what he would've fetched in trade instead of Linus...

The ZaZa - Pasta - Geek line, plus Marchand, IS the Bs offense right now. Don't let empty-net goals by Coyle & Lindstorm fool you; both of them are stealing money this season.

And giving DNP-CDs to Brazeau & Wallstrom so that Utterly. Useless. Crap. like Jones & Brownstain can show just how horrible they are at playing NHL hockey is, in the words of the now-late former president Carter, a disgrace to the human race.

The 3rd period yesterday was the best period of hockey the Bruins have played this season. Yeah, I know, that and a couple of bucks will get me a cup of coffee. But it's not nothing, it shows that by playing smarter and staying within their game this team can be competitive against a quality opponent. Whether they can build off of that isn't something I'd put money on but at least we (and more importantly the players) know that potential is there. It's one thing to be less talented than an opponent, it happens in every sport at every level, there's no excuse for getting outworked by one.

In that 3rd period against the Avs;
Stayed above the puck
Forechecked with purpose
Cut down on the unthinking/panic giveaways
Maintained positional discipline
Limited quality shots against
Didn't surrender the blue line
Kept Colorado on the perimeter
Consistently finished their checks
Out skated Colorado by a decent margin

Not too shabby. OFC that was only one period, nonetheless it's good to see they're capable of it. Doesn't mean much if they can't repeat it on a regular basis though

I'm hoping the trend continues and it inspires the team to make some moves at the trade deadline. Like to see us get a solid d-man and a rugged forward type that can score a bit more than we are getting from Freddy, Coyle, and Brazeau. However, if they keep stumbling around, I hope they trade some assets and try to rebuild.

I suspect the B's may be sellers this year
I'm a Freddy fan but he's snake bit this year and the timing couldn't be worse for him or the team as it's a contract year for him.

One step forward, 3 steps back. Last night's game was horrific, from Swayman on out the B's just sucked. Yes their top 3 D-men were out. But Lindholm, McAvoy and Carlo not taking the ice doesn't explain Swayman and most of the forwards playing like dog ****. It may be time to bite the bullet and blow it up, start the rebuild

very much agree. it has to start with a new front office and then they can sell off these players. Last night, it didn't occur to anyone that they needed to cover the largest man on the ice (Tage Thompson). And even though our D is terrible, Swayman was giving up simple goal that he would normally stop. Not screened shots, but flat out unobstructed shots. I really give up and dont expect these guys to make the playoffs. I will keep watching because i love Bruins hockey (and hockey in general) but these guys absolutely suck

I heard the radio replay of the empty-netter scored by JJ could've been a Bruin Peterka... Beers was justifiably pissed-off that it was allowed to happen at all, though I disagree with him slightly that Eurotrash2 was blameless there: yes he did win the faceoff, but it wasn't a strong-enough win to reach the blue line on its own... Still one or both of Pasta & Lohrei should've been racing to the puck as soon as it started sliding towards them... But that's not the real issue here anyway.

i cant even put into words what i watched last night. Really pathetic hockey against Winnipeg.

I, like them, have begun to mail it it. I am far too casual of a fan to get emotionally committed to what they are putting out on the ice.

A week ago today the Bruins played arguably their best period of hockey this season in the 3rd against Colorado. There hasn't been much in the last two games to suggest we've even been watching the same team.
I honestly don't get it.

If they lose to the Rangers tomorrow, on national TV, the same way they've lost to Barfalo & Winnipeg, then perhaps Real change might finally be on its way during the 4 Nations break...

Win or lose, it's time for a real change. I hate to say it, but I think the president, and GM, need to go, siht, even the captain might need to be considered as a trade chip. There are very few (if any) players that still have trade value, that I consider untouchable.

and then they put together a solid game against the Rangers to lure me back in. Ugh, i wish i could quit you Boston Bruins.

Maybe the solution is to only watch Saturday matinee games
I am trying to mainly focus on the younger players and see if there is a potential young core we can build around. These currently rostered players are 26 years old or younger; Swayman, Koepke, Peeke, Lohrei, Callahan, Wahlstrom, Lysell, Frederic, Poitras, Geekie, Beecher, McLaughlin, and Kastelic. Would like to see all of them get as much playing time as possible and see what we got.
