Bruins 2024-2025

I was gifted some Black Label gift set bottles. Not a fan. I have a decanter that I was pouring the last little bits of bourbon bottles into to make my own blend. I got it about 2 inches deep and added a half a shot of Black Label. Ruined it. I haven't dumped it yet, but i am considering it.
I had the 18 yr old Glenlivet last night as I said, surprise me, when asked what I wanted. I was not surprised, it was ok.

I have a bottle of Old Forrester 1870 I got for Christmas. That was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty.

I had OF 1870 once. I did enjoy it as I do for most bourbon if I have time to relish.

I got a Redbreast 15 yr for Christmas that made me smile in surprise. I bought a Lagavulin 16 for myself recently was finally under $100 and had some reward points from Holiday gifting....it is my favorite Scotch which isn't Balvenie Doublewood. A balance of sweet & smoke is a good thing but not easy to find and not break the bank.

Holy ****! I am out of my league...
You guys are serious about your whiskey drinking. I am very happy to drink Jim Beam (prefer the black label), Makers Mark, and Evan Williams with a bit of flavored soda water and, yes, ice goddammit. I'm usually just chasing a nice buzz. I'm too simple-minded to appreciate the subtleties of all those subtleties.

Last summer a friend of mine brought about 12 bottles of expensive scotch that he had a bunch of us try...I still haven't forgiven myself for continuing to put all 12 of those flavors in my mouth. Must be an acquired taste.

I poured myself a couple of fingers of Old Forrester 1870 last night, while talking to my buddy in Alaska. Just as good as it was on Christmas Eve.

Evan Williams and Diet Coke is my weekend go to drink. Not a fan of scotch as i think it taste like a leather belt. Favorite bourbon is Eagle Rare and there is also a high end Evan Williams that has a cherry note, just cant remember what its called. In the summer, Absolute Mandarin with Diet Squirt is pretty refreshing.

Poitras is back up from Providence and I hope they make the effort to get the kid some ice time vs using him like a spare part. There's a lot of speed and creativity in his game, the B's need to give the kid a chance to shine this time. Callahan is the call up on D which is the right move as he can play some minutes and they're not rushing Ryan Mast.

Now is the time for Poitras to sink or swim and it'll be disappointing if the B's don't give the kid a genuine chance.

Why does Now have to be the time? The little dude has played a Grand Total of: 131 games of amateur junior hockey & 23 games of pro minor-league hockey... He won't turn 21 until March; he is WOEFULLY un-prepared for the Big Time. He needs a FULL season, at least, in Providence to grow into his body, however much that becomes.

If anyone from Providence deserves a permanent recall (besides our cousin Vinnie, who's already here), it's Merkulov.

This team as currently constituted is at best 1st round fodder. If Potras, Merkulov and Lysell can get the NHL minutes to bring their games and the team's forward at least that's time well spent. Potras doesn't have anything to learn in Providence. He's shown he can get it done in the AHL, he needs to do it against better competition.

My niece's husband loves Michter's, his favorite. He's happy. Everyone has their own magic or so I've been told.

Slainte.

Inexcusable loss, plain and simple. Up 2 goals with 3 minutes left and you let them tie it up...then the absolutely poor effort in the shootout. This is a game they HAD to have, and they choked. This is a poor hockey and cant continue like this. What a joke from the front office all the way down to the zamboni driver. Pathetic

I am so done with this team.

Just the frustrations of this season in miniature on display in today's game. Play lackadaisically, get down by two, ramp it up, storm back to lead by two with 3 minutes left, then stop skating. They repeatedly failed to clear the zone after establishing possession, took stupidly long shots at the empty net leading to icings that put it back in their own zone and kept them from changing. Eventually that led them to coughing up the tie. They stumbled about in OT which led to them losing in the shootout.

TLDR: mentally sloppy hockey = another frustrating loss

Shut it off, had a double John's Lane and watched some Terry O'Reilly fighting YouTubes.

I hate the shootout. It is very boring to me.

I would love to see a longer 3 on 3 OT or a split ice power play overtime. Lower a net at red line have two simultaneous power plays happening. First team to score wins.

This is a recording: For the money they're making, Carlo & especially Zadooroff absolutely ****ing Suck, as does Eurotrash #2.

And I owe an apology to Brad Marchand: I was wrong about his dragging down the Coyle line; it's Charlie himself who's doing the dragging. What the **** has happened to him?!?

I've despised the shootout since its inception. Double the length of 3 on 3 OT or go to 2 on 2 for 5 minutes after 5 at 3 on 3. If there's no goal, call it a tie and move on. I'd rather a friggin' coin flip than a shoot out

Zadorov has been terrible. I thought this was going to be a good pick up but he looks lost. I cant decide who turns the puck over more...him or Pasta

In the last couple games I've watched, I've seen Sway lose concentration to the point where you can see him relax while the puck is in their zone. Wanted to see if you noticed it too.

Swayman has seemed oddly checked out to varying degrees at different times all year. Most prominently he's constantly getting caught playing too high in his crease. Not only does that leave him unable to explode out to the puck but it can make certain lateral movements risky by forcing open his stance. Definitely not the way Essensa coaches the position.
